About this listen
On the border of Zahl-Legion space, far from anything Austin Stone has ever known, Star Runners are dying. Lurking in the darkness, the Zahl Empire has a new threat facing the Legion Tridents. After surviving pirates and battling threats to Earth, Austin knows better than most rookies in the Tizona Squadron the dangers that exist in the universe.
Soon after his tour begins, a mysterious weapon strikes fear in the hearts of all Star Runners and has the ability to catapult the Legion and Zahl into a galactic war.
Dealing with plunging morale and missing comrades, Austin has to deal with the fact they are facing an enemy they cannot defeat. But perhaps the Legion could find another way to face the enemy....

Changing Narrators
Ok, let me begin by saying that I pretty much literally cyber-stumbled into this series. I couldn't have been happier that I did. It was so refreshing and clean while still being real. It's one of the only sci-fi/fantasy book series that I've read where there was pretty much no cussing AND..... no sections that make you blush and feel weird when your grandma walks in the room. Relationships play a big role in the books, especially this one, but in a clean, kid safe kind of way. I have a lot of respect for an author that can manage that. Ok, now that I've rambled, I really loved the story. It has ships, outer space, conflict, wars, gore, glory, integrity, and honor. The book summaries are pretty true to the work. So why did I title my review the way that I did? Well that was the big switch in this volume. The previous two books are read by Donald R. Emero. He did a lovely job at that. Actually, he sounded a bit Canadian at times to me but I found that charming more than anything. :) But book three sees a shift from Emero to Naramore. I'm the type of person that when a show or film switches the actor for a character or a series changes narrators, I pout for ages. It drives me crazy. But this is one of the very few times when I felt the switch was perfect! Book three marks a lot of changes for the main characters as well as the direction of the story. Naramore does a phenomenal job of transitioning the listeners into those other changes. I don't know if I'm really making any sense but I hope I am. Putting it simply, if you love the genre you'll probably like this series. It is sci-fi/fantasy done with a class that reminds me of Narnia and LotR. I hope you enjoy it. :)

Love this series
What made the experience of listening to Mission Wraith the most enjoyable?
This one was my most favorite due to the new narrator. The old one was ok but did the main characters voices the same. Im suprised this book has bad reviews when it's such a good story and I would listen to it again.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Austin of course since he's the main character and you get to see him grow throughout the series. He's not a fake tough guy like most heroes. He's just a normal fighter pilot that tries his best to do his job.
What does Mikael Naramore bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Excitement and humor to the story. You really get a feel for the characters. I loved his military voices.

Exciting space wars and journey of a young pilot through the galaxy

Addicting
What made the experience of listening to Mission Wraith the most enjoyable?
The emotions of the characters that flowed throughout the book. They brought the book to life.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Austin, of course. Then again there is Skylar and Ryker and Bear and ...
What does Mikael Naramore bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
You feel the emotions when you read the book but he put so much into his reading. He was not reading/narrate but told the story that was taking place.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were several but the one that really moved me I don't want to say because it would be a spoiler.
Any additional comments?
This is the third book of Austin and the Star Runners. Each book lead into the next however you can read each one as a stand alone. Don't know why you would want to. In the words of Austin and his fellow Star Runners "STAY FROSTY".

When is the next one?!
Not a classic writer, but so worth the read. Can't wait for another story about Austin and the Star Runners!
This book is good for any age reader. I would rate it PG, but there are difficult subjects of death, loss, and sacrifice that might be hard for children old enough to understand but not old enough to deal with it. These issues were well-written and very true-to-life. unlike tv, where people suffer tremendous trama & loss and the next day are fine.
My dad always said, "if your beliefs aren't worth dying for, they aren't worth living for."

Just plain Awesome
One of the best sci-fi galactic space stories l've ever listened too! All 3 books in fact!! I am so looking forward to the next book from L.E. Thomas in this amazing series!!

Miss Narrator
Miss the narration of Donald R Emero. Just not the characters I've enjoyed up to this point. Especially miss Nubern's voice.

Terrible
I read a great review of this book. It sounded like it had everything I wanted-likable characters, action, emotions and a good narrator. Nope. The story started out so slow and going over what skimming over the exciting things that happened in the previous books while the current story was so boring. The emotions were high school level mostly about jealousies and crushes. And the narrator was terrible at female voices. Imagine all women sounding like Marilyn Monroe including military personnel. The male characters were okay but nothing special and a bit hokey. Sorry. There might be people who would enjoy this book but I think it's fit mostly for young readers although I didn't finish it so I don't know for sure. Oh did I mention the stilted dialog with very little or no contractions? Really a sub par book.
