Oft wurde der aufklärerische Radikalismus seiner Philosophie missverstanden. Seine Gegner bezeichnen Stirners 1844 veröffentlichtes Buch "Der Einzige und sein Eigentum" als Plädoyer für einen rücksichtslosen Egoismus, für Kapitalismus oder Marktwirtschaft.

Dabei geht es Stirner primär um Ideologie- und Herrschaftskritik. In den letzten Jahren erlebt sein Werk eine Renaissance. Welche Bedeutung hat Stirners Philosophie noch heute für unseren Alltag, die Pädagogik oder generell eine moderne Theorie der Gesellschaft?
