THE MESSAGE HAS DISAPPEARED.
SO HAS YOUR BEST FRIEND . . .

Get ready for the most unputdownable thriller of 2024, from no.1 bestselling author K. L. Slater
Saffy is waiting to go into a job interview when she receives a text message from her best friend, Leona:
Can’t speak . . . don’t text or call . . . please just come

As Saffy struggles to understand what is happening the phone screen changes:
This message was deleted.
Saffy races to Leona’s house, but when her friend answers the door, she insists everything's fine. She doesn't know anything about the message. Saffy can tell something’s not right, but after looking around the house, she can’t think of anything else she can do.
Six hours later, Saffy gets a knock on the door. It's the police. Leona is missing, with her young child. There's blood everywhere.
And Saffy was the last one to see them alive . . .

'A triumph of clever plotting and sharp writing. A compelling thriller, masterfully executed' Rachel Abbott

British delight! When I discovered K.L. Slater’s “Message Deleted,” narrated by Annabel Schobel, on Audible, I couldn't wait. I promptly put my previous listen on hold. Slater never disappoints, and "Message Deleted" is no exception. Her creative brilliance interweaves a complexellent web of twists and turns, keeping me hooked and guessing until the very end. Schobel’s narrative talents bring this ensemble cast to vivid life. I was thoroughly engaged throughout and thrilled with the depth and emotion. The plot centers around Saffy, who receives a cryptic text message from her best friend, Leona, only to have it deleted moments later. She becomes involved in a mystery surrounding Leona’s disappearance, her daughter and oh, so much more. Who can be trusted? Multifaceted with suspenseful surprises and shockers around every corner, I found myself intently listening with full attention to every detail. Get this one now. I’m thrilled I did. So highly recommended, I want to scream from the rooftop, “Epic, I say! EPIC! EPIC! EPIC!”

It’s Slater! I was so excited!

The plot held my attention through the twist and turns. The reader did a good job delineating the voices of the different characters. However, she had an annoying habit of dropping the last vowel of some words making it hard to understand: police would become “poli”, face would become “fa”, princess became “prin”, etc

Good story

The story was good but the lisp kept making me have to double take. Didn’t waste a credit but that was a major buzzkill.

The lisp…

Interesting how the author manages to pull events all together in a neatly written package. From the beginning it keeps you wondering what happened. Her characters are complex. It’s a suspenseful thriller with humanity that forgives the most serious betrayals. Slater has become one of my favorite authors. She leaves no loose ends.

Coming together

The storyline was really good and the ending was not predictable, which I liked. I will say that the performance was slightly lacking as it was distracting with the lack of her finishing some of the words. I found myself paying a lot of attention to her speech. Overall, though, it was a good read.

Keeps you guessing!

SUPER annoying. The narrator or storyteller changed her "S" sounds to a "th" very obvious and distracting. As usual the book and storyline was AMAZING. Thank you.
