She had survived both a diagnosis of lupus and brain surgery, had a fulfilling career, and was married at last to the love of her life. Everything was good as she coasted along, meeting the eyes of a truck driver as he approached the stop sign beside her. He didn't stop. The truck hit Colleen, running over her lower body with front and back tires and dragging her across the pavement.

Outstanding!
The author, Laura Blodgett explains the journey her family goes through when her daughter Melody was diagnosed with Leukemia. The book allows the reader to have an insider look at not only the medical procedures and terminology associated with a diagnosis but the raw emotion and resiliency of a family during a crisis. She truly honors her daughters legacy by painting a picture of her personality through personal stories and reflection from journal entries.
I highly recommend this book for anyone desiring to read about the strength of a family, and most importantly a mother, demonstrating unconditional love of a child. Also, this book would be a useful resource for families searching for support during a cancer diagnosis
