In 2004, at the dawn of the aesthetics industry, Dr. Carol Clinton launched a new type of medical practice in Columbus, Ohio, with an eye on the future. After graduating from medical school at Ohio State University and practicing emergency medicine for 15 years, she was ready for a new approach to the healing arts. With Timeless Skin Solutions, her goal was to create the ideal patient experience in the emerging field of aesthetic medicine.
Carol sold her practice for 5X EBITDA in 2020.
Sara Shikhman, Esq. Managing Partner, Lengea Law: As the Managing Partner of Lengea Law, a healthcare law firm, Sara Shikhman has helped over 200 medical spa locations get started, grow, and become legally compliant.
A University of Pennsylvania Law School graduate, Sara has launched several multi-million dollar businesses. In four years as Director of Sales, Marketing, and Legal, she grew her first med spa from a one-room office into a multi-state medical spa and technology company with 12 locations across five states and over $13 million in revenue. Because of the systems and intellectual property she developed, that company has received valuations of upwards of $20 million.

Insightful and extremely helpful
I loved this! Sara and Carol really understand the medspa world and all the unique challenges that come with it. The book dives deep into things that medspa owners (or anyone in aesthetics) absolutely need to know but might not realize - legal dos and don’ts, staying compliant, and tips that actually work.
Listening felt like having a friend who’s an expert give you all the insider info in a way that’s super easy to understand. It’s packed with practical advice that I know I'll keep coming back to as I grow my business. Honestly, I finished it feeling more confident and inspired. Highly recommend to anyone in aesthetics

If you want to start a Med Spa...
This is the book to read. It has all the information you will need to start and be successful, as well as compliance with laws and regulations. It is always good to hear from experienced people who have gone through it all!

The PERFECT book that helped me launch my med spa
I read this book once already in the hardcover. But being able to listen to it on audible in the car, gym, or office has really helped cement some of the concepts and principles provided by Sara in the book! This is a MUST READ if you are looking to open or grow your practice
