About this listen

Was his price too high?

What did an independent, spirited woman do when her stud farm was deep in debt? Marry for money? Never! Instead, Courtney set off for Sydney in search of a silent business partner.

Handsome investment broker Jack Falconer said he knew the right man for her. Courtney jumped at the chance, only to find that Jack was that man and he had a deal to offer. He'd clear her debts if she would do something for him in return: have his baby!

He's big, he's brash, he's brazen...he's Australian!

Narrator was awful. And that's being kind. Story wasn't much better -- why is a female sexually harassing a male employee considered a useful plot device? And our heroine is just too all over the place for the plot to make ANY sense. The horse stuff was not well done, either. So yes, thankfully it was free.

Thank Dog it was free!

This story was not an entertaining story. But a very un HP type book. This should have been under the Desire heading. It was so chocked full of sexual innuendos that it made reading not pleasant. I do read Desire and am wanting that type from that, this was not what I wanted. The story revolves around a young woman who never knew her father. Her mother was older in age when she had her and very brisk in attitude so raised her daughter more as a son than a daughter. (Yes I am not a feminist in this) But the man who comes to help out the home and the horses that are being raised for racing in the outback. He is a man who gossip has it was broke and still reeling from a broken heart. Can these two come together and put fresh blood, ie money and family, into their lives? The narrator was the best thing about the story line.

struggling to finish & have finally just stopped.... the story is taking too long to get off the ground. too much character development (if that's such a thing)

boring & very slow!

I couldn't get into this book at all with the horrible accents given to the main characters. I listened till the end, but only so I wouldn't feel obligated to try and read it again later. The whole story just seemed flat.

Distracting accent

Um... this was a pitiful attempt of a book in my opinion. First of all, the Austrailian accent was awful and downright annoying. I about gagged everytime I heard it. The storyline is so boring. I really tried to give it a chance. Once I was in the third hour of this book, I had to quit. I couldn't make myself read any more. I feel I was being way more than generous when I rated the book with only one star. I feel horrible for the trees that were wasted for the printing of this book.

BORING!!!

i loved it i laughed out so much while listening. Courtney's character was a refreshingly brilliant, while Jack's was an immensely perfect combination. the narrator did a great job.

A great listen

The story was fine, not great, but entertaining.

What was NOT entertaining was the working class Aussie accents assigned to the upper class hero and heroine. It was so irritating that I found it difficult to listen to the story.

Irritating Accent

This is probably the worst audible book I have ever heard. The Australian accents were atrocious. They are so bad they just grate on the nerves. The two main characters sound so terrible that they sound like really bad imitations of British Cockney accents.I just couldn't listen to it after half an hour.

Horrible narrator
