About this listen
A man with something to hide and a woman with nowhere to go - and neither can leave the island until morning....
Luke, the marquis of Dewsbury, is a complete rogue. Bested by none and adored by many, he finds himself sent away from town by his embarrassed father where he discovers the young and innocent Miss Adena Garland. At only 18 years old, she becomes his unlikely companion as they become trapped on an island after high tide.
The night is long and likely to be cold - but the heat rising between Miss Garland and the marquis of Dewsbury could keep both of them warm.
Will Luke continue his stream of conquests? Or will Adena find being marooned with a marquis enough to give into temptation?
This is the fourth in a series of eight Ravishing Regencies.

Story
Fern Brookbanks has wasted far too much of her adult life thinking about Will Baxter. She spent just twenty-four hours in her early twenties with the aggravatingly attractive, idealistic artist, a chance encounter that spiraled into a daylong adventure in the city. The timing was wrong, but their connection was undeniable: they shared every secret, every dream, and made a pact to meet one year later. Fern showed up. Will didn’t.

Quick and Enjoyable Listen
Title: Marooned with a Marquis
Author: Emily E. K. Murdoch
Format: Audio
Narrator: Julia Eve
Genre: Romance, Regency
Standalone: yes (mostly - there’s a bit of a tease for the next book at the end)
Part of a Series: Book 4 of the Ravishing Regencies series
POV: Adena and Luke
Steam Level: Warm
4/5
I haven’t read a lot of regency romances but I’m pretty picky about the ones I read. However, I really like this series. What I like the most about these books are the heroines. And Adena is no exception. Smart and funny, Adena outwits Luke in her survival skills. There are two things that bug me. The first is the roundabout communication (or lack thereof) that leads to misconception and missed cues. The other is that because of the little tease at the end there is no epilogue. I fed like epilogues make stories feel complete.

A short, hot period romance
Marooned with a Marquis is a short and hot period romance in which a lady meets a man while stranded on an island by the tide. The story is fairly simple, and primarily serves as an excuse to get the two characters together. I did not find I liked these particular characters all that much, but if a reader enjoys this type of book, the author has a whole series of them, and they are pretty entertaining.
Adult readers only. These books contain graphic sex scenes. I personally find the sex scenes in this series of books to be excessively long and somewhat silly.
The narrator is good at bringing these books to life, though her reading if the male character, Luke, made him sound more pompous, demanding, and winy then he might have otherwise come off. I have to say, she puts a fair amount of effort into bringing the emotion into the scenes, and while some of the moments in the sex scenes seemed rather embarrassing, it wasn’t for lack of effort on the narrator’s part.

Adore.
I absolutely adore these books. These make me so happy and remind me of the love I have with my fiancé.
I had a baby in December of last year, and ever since then I haven’t felt myself in romance. My fiancé has been patient, but these books have helped me rekindle the romantic relationship with my fiancé.
Thank you. More than you know. Thank you.

Very enjoyable!
Adena is a fiery red head with a temper to match who is not afraid to go after what she wants. Luke initially thinks he can put one over with her and is very surprised when she takes control of their so-called marooned situation. He also tends to think of how he would like to act with her but tends not to do so resulting in many a lost opportunity.
This is an intense love story where emotion and passion flow freely and quickly.
The two fall in love and there were very unexpected twists in this story just when I didn't expect them and this made it all the more interesting.
I loved the characters, the way their minds worked and how they related to each other, making this a very enjoyable and interesting read and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have.
I originally read an Advance Reader Copy of this ebook and have now listened to this entertaining audiobook narrated by Julia Eve which I also loved - my review above is voluntary and unbiased.

Marooned, or maybe not!
Adena was visiting her cousin and decided to go for a walk. Except she wandered too far and then the tide went out and she was stranded on the island. Luke was nearby and realized that Adena thought she was stranded overnight and he decided to continue that belief so he could spend the night with her.
I enjoyed the character of Adena, she was smart, knowledgeable and down to earth. She was also smart enough to read the signs in the landscape the next morning to deduce that there was a way home from the "Island" she thought they were on.

Amazing Series!
This is the fourth book of eight Ravishing Regencies, a steamy and fun historical romance. This is the story of Luke, the marquis of Dewsbury, and Miss Adena Garland. Their story is hot, and fun. Julia Eve did an outstanding job with the narration. She has the perfect voice for this Historical Romance. I love this Series, and I highly recommend it.

Such a good story! It started out way different than I thought it would. It was Hot. I just wish they would have spoke more openly but if they had the story would have been even shorter. Narration was just perfect to my ears anyway.
