About this listen

Avery Castle carries the weight of a thousand moments of sorrow.
Donavan Hardy carries enough anger for them both.

When they were young, Donavan learned sign language so he could talk to the deaf beauty. He cared, even when Avery's influential father couldn't be bothered with her "flaw."

In spite of things, the bad boy made her fall in love with sound . . . with music.

They couldn't have been any more different, but he was always meant to protect her, just like she was always meant to calm his rage.

And then, Avery's world came crashing down when the love of her life disappeared without a trace, leaving her broken-hearted and pregnant. She loses her baby, the last bit of him she has left, and her world plunges deeper into darkness.

Seven years of hurt, confusion, and pain collide when they are thrown back together. Avery has to decide if the life she's been living with the sizzling Cuban cop, whom her father approves of, is worth not having Donovan back in her life. But Donavan is fighting for her forgiveness, to prove that deep-seeded secrets far greater than their love tore them apart.

Donavan will force Avery to return the key to her heart no matter the cost....

Contains mature themes.

Love this book good reading can’t wait to start part lol. Very good Narrators. Can’t stop reading.

Amazing

The female narrator sounded stiff like Siri and the male narrator's voice was too deep and grating. I liked the idea of the book and was caught up in the suspenseful moments. Then the book ended with a lame twist. I'll probably check out part 2 out of curiosity to see how it goes.

Terrible twist

I loved the story Le full of surprises and suspense. I liked the development of characters and their roles in the story. Captivating with just enough of everything. Dot want to give anything away, but this is a great audiobook done well.

Lovely Surprise

I read this book and decided to listen to it. I’m glad it was free. The female voice made me stop this book. I didn’t even get to the male’s voice. I’m not understanding why the author didn’t get an African-American to do the female lead, she sounds so dull.

The female narrator voice

It was good but Avery was a little too whiny. Which as a Black woman was a little nerve wracking!

VERY GOOD BOOK!

This one stood out for having a FMC with a disability dealing with the same issues as other women but with additional challenges.

The backstory of the main characters is decent but the cast of supporting characters and their interactions are what really made the story.

Initially I thought I accidentally chose a book with virtual narrator and didn’t want to keep it. That’s how flat the narrator sounded. I researched her to see if she was just an Ai with a name.

Thankfully the narration did improve over the course of the story, and the narrator showed range voicing a variety of characters. Overall I find her style to be extremely robotic and flat, which I had to overcome to stick with what turned out to be a pretty good book.

Engaging story, uneven natration

The story would’ve been more engaging if the female narrator didn’t sound like a robot. She was not good at all, not sure if she’s a black woman, but next time should get a black woman to narrate those sections and give the character some life

Good storyline but female narrator Not!
