About this listen

When France fell in 1940, Britain was vulnerable to invasion and in their desperation tubes filled with explosive chemicals were installed under key points all over southeast England. These McNaughton Tubes were ready to blow in the faces of the invading Germans and thankfully never used. At the end of the war these tubes were removed, but unfortunately some tubes were missed. After 75 years they are still in the ground and some are under people's houses. This report examines who and why they were installed, who took them out, why some were missed and who is being falsely blamed for them still being in the ground.
