Happy Birthday To Us…… is absolutely Lynn’s personal favorite. Enjoy the antics of a fortysomething couple who go to Las Vegas and venture into a very “special” novelty store. When the wife finds her husband looking wistfully at a display of paddles, they go outside and have a very revealing conversation. After all, she never knew that he had a secret desire to spank her as part of their romantic hijinks. But to his surprise and delight, she is quite willing to be on the receiving end (literally) of something new. Since his birthday is coming up, she suggests that they put an interesting twist on the tradition of a birthday spanking. And that is when he finds out just how truly witty and creative a woman he married.
Guess I Got Carried Away…… tells the story of a young school administrator who surprises herself and everyone around her by applying for a position in a remote Oklahoma school district, far different from her post at a suburban Chicago school. Things get off to a rocky start when she inadvertently crosses a farmer by blocking his access to his field by parking her car to get out and pick some wildflowers.
Although she finds him devastatingly attractive, their exchange is anything but friendly, especially when he suggests a rather personal manner in which he would like to adjust her rather condescending, big city attitude. And when she thinks the day has already gone badly, she finds out that it could be much worse when she arrives at her school board interview later in the day, only to find that the vice president of the school board sitting there looking good in that suit is the same man.
After a very lively banter back and forth between the two of them that leave the other school board members not quite aware of the hidden meanings of some of their comments back and forth, the evening ends with her as the new school administrator. And that is the beginning of an interesting odyssey between the big-city woman and the no-nonsense farmer who turns out to be much more than she had ever bargained for.
Daddy Will Spank…… involves a young couple who got an early start in parenthood as high school sweethearts, but are making their way as parents of a young boy. The father is doing well as a master electrician, while his sweet and adorable wife stays home with their little boy. Unfortunately, she is simply not holding up her end of the bargain when it comes to instilling some discipline in their son. Finally, the exasperated young father decides that discipline will indeed be brought into play…but to bring about some more responsible behavior in the case of his wife. And in the aftermath of it all, they find that a new vista has opened in their relationship, complement of some lighthearted moments.
Canfield Park……is where a single and attractive southern songwriter lives in relative seclusion and financial comfort. But as successful and renowned as she has become for her songwriting skills, she is also quite forlorn because of some suppressed desires she has never confessed to anyone. That is, until one evening when she has enjoyed far too much wine, and is visited by a high school classmate coming back from a career in the military.
He also happens to be her unrequited crush from the high school years. Now he has come home to pursue his dream of working as a carpenter. And that’s when someone makes a mistake of drunkenly challenging a skilled woodworker to handcraft a paddle exclusively for her benefit. But then, in the aftermath, she finds out that it wasn’t a mistake at all.
