About this listen

The Mystic Brings Hope to the Weary and the Seekers of Beloved

In the eleventh book of The Love Series, Kaathi, the mystic, her friends, and her nine-year-old cousin, Hope, set sail to exotic nations to introduce Hope and advance the quest for justice, equality and love.

While in Jeru Salem, Kaathi challenges the pope about his interpretation of hell, and Hope confronts the pope saying many of the commandments are negative and should be replaced by one loving statement. Kaathi also irritates the head rabbi of the Jewish faith concerning women’s status in the synagogue. The queen of Persia falls in love with Kaathi and secretly tells her she wants to run away with the mystic.

While in Corinth, the king is infuriated by Hope’s interpretation of his recurring dream exposing his lack of character, and is thrown out of the palace. Rhys, a Greek philosopher of Corinth, confronts Kaathi to answer questions that have puzzled men since the beginning of time.

At a gathering, the mystic points out everyone deserves to have lives filled with love and joy, but some lives are reserved to learn courage, compassion, suffering, and sacrifice in an atmosphere of despair, distress and sadness.

Kaathi listens to an angry father’s story and tells him, “You are withholding your love from your son because you are angry with him. When you are lying in bed waiting to die, are those reasons still going to be valid”?
