About this listen

He needs an image makeover; she needs a mojo upgrade. A new lessons-in-seduction hockey romance from Wall Street Journal best-selling author Sarina Bowen.

After I’m arrested for throwing a raucous party, my hockey team says I have an image problem. And I need to fix it, stat.

Charity work? Check. Haircut? Sure. But I draw the line at hiring my neighbor to style me. In the first place “style” shouldn’t be a verb. And I’m tired of people who’d judge me on appearances.

Vera and I don’t see eye to eye on anything. She wants me to try on clothes, while I just want to remove hers. She's distractingly pretty, with soulful eyes and a sinful mouth that likes to argue with me.

But when management threatens my summer vacation, I grudgingly agree to Vera’s unusual proposal: She’ll give me an image makeover. But in return, she wants lessons in the art of seduction.

It sounds a little nutty, but I know a good opening when I hear it. Besides, it’s not like I’ll ever fall for her....

What listeners say about Love Lessons

Highly rated for:

The Book Focuses On The Blossoming Romance Between Vera, A Stylist, And Ian, A Hockey Player, During Their Summer Vacation In Italy. While The Banter And Chemistry Between The Likable Characters Are Praised, Some Readers Felt The Emotional Connection Lacked Depth And There Was Insufficient Character Development And Hockey Action Compared To Previous Books In The Enjoyable Brooklyn Bruisers Series. Overall, It Is Described As A Fun, Steamy Enemies-to-lovers Story With An Opposites-attract Theme Set Against The Backdrop Of A Summer Fling.

I adored this enemies to lovers storyline!

I absolutely adored this enemies to lovers storyline. Fantastic chemistry with a bit of angst that will have you rooting for Ian and Vera. Their banter is everything! I highly recommend this audiobook! Joe Arden and Rose Dioro did a fantastic job narrating this one!

Love Lessons was so enjoyable and fun!

I never tire of Sarina Bowen's world of Brooklyn hockey players- Bruisers, Bombshells, and their friends too. When hockey player Ian and stylist Vera at first glance don't seem suited to each other, just wait! Add in a super romantic getaway with their friends to Italy and we get fantastic witty banter, shopping sprees, and some smokin' hot love lessons for Vera from Ian. I listened to the audiobook and was super excited when I saw Joe Arden was narrating as Ian. I wasn't as familiar with Rose Dioro but am now a fan as she gave a great performance as well. Love Lessons was so enjoyable and fun!

Fun book

This was a fun read. I normally don't like hate to love books because I find them caustic and unhealthy. This was not that, not even close. It was more two people stuck in their heads unable to consider the others perspective. That is until their forced to get to know each other and realize their pre-conceived notions were untrue. Both are quick to realize their wrong and own up to it.
This was a fun book! I loved the message of not listening to your inner "b**ch. I also love how she uses her knowledge of clothes to help him through his problem.

Always a good read

Sarina Bowen never lets me down. A mostly happy story with additions from the previous characters I love. Just what I needed to get through the day. Seems silly to complain that I wish it was longer so I could enjoy these characters more but I know better than to wish for that because the miserable part is what is usually added. This has just enough to make the great part perfect and not so much that you are talking to the hero or heroine to figure it out already.

Vacation Fling Fun

Broody hockey player neighbor, check. A trip to Italy, check. All my favorite couples from previous books making an appearance? Triple check. Vera is a fashion stylist trying to make a name for herself. Ian is her grumpy neighbor that makes too much noise but she also can't stop staring at. When her bestie's husband, who is also a hockey player and friends with Ian, takes them both on a trip to Italy with the group, sparks fly.
Vera needs help in the love department and Ian needs his image sharpened up. They can work together for a common goal and have a vacation fling at the same time. We all know what that means though, what happens in Italy wasn't really going to stay in Italy.
I loved these two and their banter. My favorite parts of the book was them fighting, I am not sure what that says about me but oh well. I really wish we would have seen more of both of their back stories and had them share my intimate details of their past before the ending though. It felt a bit rushed for their HEA. The narration was amazing!

Hard to go wrong with Sarina Bowen

I always enjoy a Sarina Bowen story, and this series is one good book after another! Not crazy about the male narrator, so I probably should have just gotten the ebook instead. The female narration was good.

Fun series

This is such a great series and I love seeing more of the players find their HEA. There’s really no angst or drama in these books it’s just good times with friends and sexy times with lovers.

Loved it! Love this series!

I really enjoyed this one! I loved getting to see these two characters come together and figure things out. Vera's inside voice is very critical and definitely makes itself known in affecting her confidence and the way she views certain things. Ian is trying to deal with the aftermath from the fight that went horribly wrong in the last season that is still affecting him (during a hockey game). He wasn't injured but the other person was seriously affected and even though Ian never wanted to hurt the kid he is feeling serious guilt. Both of them have to learn to work through that. They are so good together as Ian helps Vera have fun and she helps settle him some so that people can see that he is a good guy. This story pulled me in from beginning to end and I really enjoyed it! It was fun and takes place during the off season so don't get to see much hockey but it was still a great book and it sets up for the next season. I can't wait for the next book in this series!
The narrators did a great job with this one and brought the characters to life. I loved the accents they used and you could hear the emotions.
