Couldn’t take the narration after a few chapters gave up!

I have always enjoyed T.K. Chaplin’s books, but this is the first with a male narrator and it just sounded all wrong. Couldn’t finish it

I think Jay Prichard did an amazing job narrating this book! T.K. Chapin is one of my favorite authors for his clean content and interesting characters, and it seems like hes picked Prichard for his audio books and I think he choose right! Great job!!

A Sweet Romance

I really enjoyed this audiobook. It was a nice, clean, Christian story about a chance encounter between two people from different worlds. I love the fact that it was clean and had a good back story with the characters. I also really like T.K. Chapin's books. He's a good author.

Jay Prichard does a great job narrating this story. He did a great job with the characters and has a really deep voice. Overall, a nice listen.

I Loved the Complexity, Not Just a Sappy Romance

It seems most "romance" titles are a little sappy and lack substance of reality. And maybe Christian romances even more, and that's great and fun for when you want that. But I was pleasantly surprised that this Christian romance had more substance. It was like the difference between eating a fast-food burger versus devouring a succulently seasoned, well-grilled steak.

Because of the density of story and side stories, this book was sort of easy for me to be seen as made into a Christian-based movie, whereas many others are a lot of romance fantasy fluff, and everything is just "too perfect".

I felt like there was a lot of meat put into the 3 hours. It is a drama as much as it is a romance.

On the other hand, there are still some overly sappy parts for my taste, and a few things that seem a little too perfect for reality, but again, that's part of the romance genre.

(Without giving out any spoilers) ...There are a couple of story elements that were tied-up-in-a-nice-little-bow a bit too easily and fast. It was like the changes happened too quickly without the grit that it would have taken to get there. But since the author gave me enough solid "meat to chew on" (what is with me and the meat metaphors today???), I didn't get disturbed too much about the couple of easy resolves.

This title definitely has numerous examples of people praying, and turning to God with even quick little prayers when faced with a challenge. Again, this seemed a little "too perfect" to me, but it also made me realize, by example, that we can and should be doing exactly that. It has made me pay more attention to giving God a prayer call, and not just in a challenging time, but also in good moments, or any time to say thanks in general. It didn't make me feel guilty or anything, but helped me see that people can (and probably) do really keep in touch with God that way. And even though most of us don't see it in our secular world, I shouldn't follow what I see others not doing, and instead make more effort to be in continual conscious communication with God.

Oh, one minor side character that I really liked was Helga, She had very little in the story, but for some reason , I ... I don't know ... I felt a compassion toward her. Maybe I was rooting for the underdog or something. I bet she would be a ball of fun if given the chance.

Love Interrupted is the second in the series of Christian romance books by TJ Chapman

I thought the first book was average to above average. So I looked forward to the second installment, as writers tend to get better as they go along.

I admire the authors conviction and witness dedicated at the beginning of each book. It is a testimony that will reach many.

Now onto the book, I received a free copy in exchange for money thoughts and review.

Love interrupted would have been 1 * but for the author's true dedication to God.

It was over the top in the religious content. Each sentence, especially in the beginning, started or stopped with a quick prayer. For example, upon seeing a rowdy teenager, "God, please help me relate to this rowdy teenager." And then goes along to the dialogue between the characters. I think that much less of this would have been or had a bigger impact – as written it is rather annoying to listen to.

There was entirely too much crammed into this two hour almost 3 hour book. We have Liam the youth adviser/pastor with the calling for helping teams. He has a younger brother who lives with their grandfather because the grandfather is not able to take care of himself physically it seems. We have Katie a spoiled rich girl whose sole purpose seems to be to block funding for a youth center and use the funds to upgrade their church, Katie has a brother has a drug addicted sister and I'm still not sure if she is alive or dead because the book seem to flicker through the past and the present. There was also mentions of an elderly woman was suffered a heart attack while being baptized – she died.Katie has parents that spoil her. There is a maid that Katie speaks to poorly and treats like dirt, etc. entwined the two main characters are Katie and Liam they are totally lost in the plethora of other characters.

If the author had just introduced all of these secondary characters, he would have opportunities later to write books about them in the series. I think that was his plan, but it didn't work for me because it was just too much in three hours.

There was a main storyline but distractions from it were plentiful. A runaway drug addicted sister/daughter, a grandfather who is cranky, caregiver brother, etc. Liam seems to come to town and disregards his grandfathers needs until the end of the book. Which, as my other review from the first book mentions, everything seems to be hurried to the end in the last 1 to 2 chapters. There are the youth teenagers to deal with, a dance at the church, etc. again, it was just too much.

In my opinion, if the author had laid out the different story lines and characters in such a way that there was a focus in each book, on one particular relationship it would've been much easier for me to focus. However, I am not an author nor do I know what goes into a book.

I hate writing negative reviews and I feel like that is what this is. Kudos to the author for writing the bravery it takes to publish.

Jay Prichard is one of the best narrators I've listened to. His professional and practiced voice captured each character from a teen runaway to a grumpy old man. He is a excellent and no matter what material he has to work with I have enjoyed each performance.

Creditworthy/$ : No on either. If this were a six-hour book and we could learn more about each situation than possibly but not as it is
