About this listen

Betty Lynne Davidson is planning her husband's funeral while overlooking one thing: he's not dead. When Suzanne Mullins, 42, gets the call from her father to come back home to Texas, she knows it will mean having to look at the faulty foundations of her parents' marriage as well as her own. Looking her past in the eye once and for all, Suzanne hopes that trusting in God's love and mercy will set all of this craziness straight.

I expected a change of pace, lighthearted comedy. I got a profound in depth portrayal of forgiveness. What the Lord can do with our broken pieces.

Would you try another book from Leanna Ellis and/or Pam Turlow?

no

Would you ever listen to anything by Leanna Ellis again?

probably not.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

It kept me awake while I was on a long drive.

Any additional comments?

I bought this book based on previous reviews. Maybe it's me, but the story was incredibly predictable. I guessed what would happen right from the beginning. The fact that all of these people went along with this heinous lie seemed unrealistic to me and quite disturbing. I just don't get why so many folks liked this book.

Disappointed
