About this listen
Many Christians struggle with the idea of church membership. This means that they do not join their local church as members. They then miss out on a huge range of spiritual and practical benefits.
This booklet explains why church membership is both biblical and beneficial, and how it results in ‘righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit’ (Romans 14:17), blessings for believers, and glory for God.
It gives biblical, cultural and practical encouragement for Christians to join their local church as members. Christians must believe Jesus, who said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). Then we will grow as Christians and bring blessing to ourselves, our families and to outsiders.
David Legg ministered in Devon (UK), and now writes and preaches in Hampshire. He is married to Sue; they are members of Trinity Church Liphook, have three sons, a daughter-in-law and a grandson. His other books published by Covenant Books UK include:
- Covenants for Evangelicals
- Humour in the Bible?
- The Right End of the Stick
- Reformed Evangelical Ministry Resources
He has also compiled the following discussion Bible Study guides for small groups and individual use:
- The Genesis Roller-coaster,
- The Exodus Experiment,
- 1 and 2 Samuel,
- The Songs of Ascents and Eight Last Davidic Psalms (Psalms 120 to 145) and
- Ephesians.
