About this listen

Peter is known for the greatest blunders and failures as well as for some of the greatest comebacks and victories in Jesus. It was Peter who proclaimed his loyalty to Jesus only to deny Him three times when Jesus needed him most (Matthew 26:30-35, 69-75). But Peter is also the only disciple to be personally restored by Jesus (John 21:15-19).
Peter wasn’t perfect even after Pentecost as Paul’s rebuke attests (Galatians 2:14). But what Peter learned throughout his life and what he so ably shares in his first epistle is that, hope is alive when you live with Jesus. Peter learned from experience that even when you fail, there is still always hope in Jesus. Peter rejoiced in this hope, This hope kept him going, even when he failed. That is why he opens his epistle by saying:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ form the dead” – 1 Peter 1:3

This book is for people in a state of despair and lost hope; it is a book aimed at helping people find a hope that will never let them down or disappoint them. In this age of terrorism, economic uncertainty, and the break down of the traditional family, we need hope. God is a God of hope, living hope, a hope that never disappoints. God offers His hope in His word. We need it!
