About this listen

Although I was born in a little space on a reservation (Crow) a few miles from Billings, Montana where mother is from, and where I would be raised in Billings. A small community where my father's family has its history. Multiracial, they would later identify me as or would say. But my dad would always bring it back around to just being European, with a sprinkle of Native American. Although my parents were from two different cultures, they were always in sync when it came to their children in public. Father said how it was going to be and Yaksuna, known in her native tongue, my mother fell in line in private. As the years pass, I can see how I am my mother's child and my brother, in some ways, our father's son, when that dreaded day of what was at a slow simmer, came to a boil or ahead as some would say. On this one summer evening, we were all having fun and hanging out. Just graduated from college and like any young adult, we were drinking heavily. But then something happened, that we will never speak of in public, but for those who heard about it, we think about it in private. And those who lived it will forever be scorned by what happened that evening. I'm Taegan Nicole-Paislyn and this is my story! My life and I’m living it Unapologetically!
