About this listen
Playboy Geoffrey Williams is dead. But it's not a search for the killer that brings Archy McNally to the case; the lovely Melva Williams readily admits to the crime passionnel. After finding Geoff in a precarious position with an attractive young lady, she pulled the trigger on husband number two. It sounds like an open-and-shut case for McNally & Sons' Department of Discreet Inquiries until Melva asks Archy to shield her daughter, Veronica, from the press and paparazzi. Gallant Archy takes the case and escorts grown-up and gorgeous Veronica home to the McNally manse. Rumors fly, and some of them may be true.
Veronica is no damsel in distress though, and she's certainly not sorry her stepfather is in the grave. When her story doesn't match Melva's, which doesn't match Geoff's, Archy realizes he does indeed have a dilemma on his hands. Someone's lying, and the one person who knows the truth, Geoff's perky playmate, has gotten away.
A delectable combination of high society and high jinks, and featuring some of the most eccentric characters to populate Florida's Gold Coast, McNally's Dilemma is as witty and charming as Archy McNally himself.

"Listeners will truly enjoy this whodunit. It is full of twists and turns as well as hilarious dialog. The story is well written and will hold one's interest until the bitter end, leaving you wanting more. Archy McNally and Boyd Gaines: perfect
I like to get lost in the world of Archy McNally, a perfect mix of the good life and excitement. I love his appetite for the most important meal of the day- the one he’s having right now. With his culinary tastes and fashion sense, he reminds me a successful magician I know. Truly, your lifestyle is what you make it. Love his father’s character. He makes me miss the time when people respected the rules of polite society. The cop Al is great. I forget that Boyd Gaines is going all the voices. They sound like all different people. I’d rather have him than different actors reading parts. He’s the best.

Horrible Narration
I normally enjoy these books partially because of the narrator, but this one has a different narrator and sorry to say he is awful. Sometimes I can get used to an voice, but not this one. His different voices were just awful.

Very disappointing!
Part of the enjoyment of listening to all the Mcnally books up to this one was because the narrator. What happened to him?? This narrator sounds like he giving a 1960’s news report. Horrible. I’m struggling to even finish the book.

Abridged and terrible audio
I know this is a different author, but the audio recording is both abridged and terrible. I have all of the other McNally books and they are great. I'm not sure why this one is totally different. I can highly recommend the others (prior to this one), but not this one.

too short, not worth the money
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would not recommend this version to anyone
I read the book a long time ago, it was a great story. Loved the book. This audiobook was only a little over 3 hours, all the other books by this author have been 7-8 hours. I felt gyped that i got the short quick version for the same price as a longer book by author. Really not worth the money. the book is great, read it instead of listening to this short version
Who was your favorite character and why?
Archis is always the favorite, lady Cynthia is intriguing as well.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
playboy works the town.
Any additional comments?
too short, same price as a full length. not a good value
