A civilian aircraft is shot down deep in the Central Highlands, and the South Vietnamese authorities have no interest in searching for survivors. The passenger manifest included Red Cross doctors and nurses, crossing South Vietnamese airspace on their way to Thailand. When Farrell discovers they have been written off, he insists on mounting a search for survivors. Farrell has other ideas. With the aid of a South Vietnamese Ranger, the four members of his Team travel to the Central Highlands to search for the wreck of the downed aircraft. Only to discover a squad of North Vietnamese sappers has come across a few survivors and slaughtered them. What remains is to locate any Red Cross personnel who may have survived the crash. That is the easy part. The difficult part is to lead them to safety, through hostile terrain awash with even more hostile Communist invaders.
