I enjoy this series of stories. But the narrator misses the mark with the male character voices.

Good story bad narration.

Like the past 3 books this one is good! A little fun, a little sad and a lot of hot!!! Overall I liked it BUT the narration of Torkel and Faye are absolutely horrible!!! I cringed every time Faye talked.

Great story! Bad narrator.

Good story line. Would like to see what their kids futures hold. Boring narrative. Like listening to a how to book

Narrator should stick to TV "How it's Made"

There’s one thing that would make listening to this audiobook better and that is to listen to the first three books in order of publication. I say this because a lot of the same characters are interwoven through all the books. That being said, I enjoyed this story of a warrior who felt he didn’t deserve a chance at love because of who his father is. The heroine is an Earth woman who had been a sex slave and then was used for horrible experiments. She has to learn to trust men again. The story is well written and narrated with a happy ending.

Good sci-fi romance!

The story is great, but for some reason the narration took a drastic change from the other three books. While some changes were expected as the narrators differed between all four books, at least the tone and personality of the characters was consistent in the first three books in the series. In this book, Faith Reed sounds bored out of her mind, like she doesn’t love Torkel and most disappointingly like she’s got no brains. This isn’t the same woman we saw in the first three books. Also, Lissie (Rydek’s chosen) sounds more like an alien than necessary and not like her previous representation in earlier books. Sylvie and Joni were passable but still lacking the luster heard in Arak’s Love. And worst of all, Torkel is portrayed with the voice and tone of some high brow professor with breathy undertones!! Um what?? Where’s the Merenian warrior who overcame so many obstacles by strength and determination and willpower?? Who’s this academic who doesn’t sound like he even knows what a laser is let alone can run an elite team of warriors!? Utterly disappointed in this because the storyline was good and demanded more realistic tone and personality of the characters we’ve heard and seen developed in three previous books.

I only pushed through because of the storyline. If you want to know what happens next and don’t mind periodic cringeworthy scenes then trudge on and give this a listen. I’m glad I did but really hate that these narrators destroyed the characters I came to know and love.

Narration is cringeworthy. Period.

I loved that the was a male and female narrator, but their performance left a lot to be desired. They simply didn't match the descriptions of the people in the story. or was almost like they were making fun of the characters instead. I mean why does Faith sound so emo?

what's up with the narrator's

I loved the first 3 books. This story didn't do the male or female lead characters any justice. I was happy to hear the story but didn't enjoy it as much as the first 3.

Need new narrators

This is a great series but I think it’s best read and not listened to as the change of narrators plummeted. The male narrator in this book was way off from the previous. I understand there are reasons that narrators change but once a series is started, the author should demand a new narrator listen to previous and try to imitate the general demeanor and at least come close to the type of voice that has been set for these characters. This book just made me cringe when it came to the voice of Torkel. I pushed through because I wanted Kyeles story so badly, I was willing to just cringe and move on.
