Solid practical advice that covers all angles!
I found this audio book helpful, as even though I've previously quit kratom several times, it was still useful to have a concise guide to the main aspects of quitting this substance, as it comes with it's own unique and specific challenges. It's been a reminder or refresher of all the main things to bare in mind to increase your chances of success. Some of which I had forgotten, and a few things I dont recall ever hearing before. It's good to have some quality material on this topic available.
The brevity is a positive I'd say, as the points are all fleshed out sufficiently to make sense and be relatable, but there is no 'filler' or repetition, or making the same point again and again, as per Allen Carr's book about giving up smoking.
Both books take a similar approach to the psychology of quitting specific addictions, making the point that you aren't losing anything, but instead stand to gain a whole lot from breaking free. Although Carr's book was probably the one main thing that did finally help me quit smoking cigarettes for good, he didn't half repeat the same point again and again, sometimes by saying the same thing in different ways, sometimes by merely stating the same thing multiple times. That got irritating.
Nolan avoids this and the tone respects the intelligence and knowledge of the listener / reader.
His series of videos on you tube is also very good. Way above the average 'user stories and advice on quitting kratom' to be found on there, in terms of knowledability, thoroughness, and practicality. There is perhaps a little overlap in the material with the book and videos, but overall I have benefitted from both.
I now have a solid plan, and am successfully tapering my one daily evening dose during work days, without too much difficulty. I am sleeping just fine, and I'm already feeling a whole lot better in the mornings as a result of my reductions so far. Still struggling with mainly psychological cravings during my days off work though, I'll probably need to revisit any relevant sections regarding those.
