Low carbohydrate diets and diets where pre-industry foods are to be eaten (or rather, "pre-agricoluture") are the two food systems that have depopulated the most in recent years. I myself have been applying them with great success for almost 20 years. But what I did, unlike many, is to combine both the two food strategies: the Ketogenic Diet and the Paleo Diet.
Because you DO NOT have to avoid carbohydrates!
First of all let me speak of carbohydrates. Often those who approach a ketogenic diet, mistakenly, believe they have to give up carbohydrates forever. But carbohydrates are not your enemy! What you may not know (or no one has ever revealed to you) is that spending too much time without carbohydrates in the long run compromises your affinity with this macronutrient. In practice, those few times that you will return to eat even small doses, your body will get fat as if you had eaten a whole pastry. Secondly, if your goal is also to growth muscle mass, an extremely low share will certainly not help you. Chronically low insulin, being a strictly anabolic hormone, will make your body very similar to that of a marathon runner. Is that what you want? I do not think so!
