About this listen

Discover the fragmented world of first-century Judaism: the culture that shaped the Church at its very beginnings! Dr. Randy Weiss, a Jewish believer and expert in the Jewish roots of Christianity, explains the little details of culture and practice that affected Christ’s ministry, but are almost unintelligible today to western Christians. Audiobook narrated by Rich Reneau.

The book has little to do with Jesus or seeing through his eyes. It is about the different sects of Judaism in Jesus's day.

It is well, if not too well documented. Everything is quoted from someone else which makes the presentation uncomfortable and tedious.

Bad Title

If you are looking for a textbook about every sect of Judaism there ever was, this is for you. If you are looking for a book about Jesus and the time in which he lived, then look for another book. Only the last couple of chapters actually represent the title of this book as far as I'm concerned. While it was well researched and the author is obviously very knowledgeable, it was overkill for me.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Though I may not completely agree with the author on every single point that he makes. I believe in listening to opinions from various authors. This is well-spent time ti obtain another perspective.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The Jewish perspective.

Very Interesting.....
