About this listen
Amid this atmosphere of uncertainty, Joshua returns to reassure the people of Auburn by reminding them of the lessons he left them years before. He explains that God is love, not a monster intent on punishing them. But when an immense earthquake and other "signs of the apocalypse" seem to abound, Joshua realizes that his wisdom must reach beyond this small town to help the rest of the world.

Story
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Her name is Odd. Twelve-year-old Audrey Wyatt bears the unfortunate nickname "Odd", a name even her bar-hopping, alcoholic mother uses when she's sober enough to recognize the girl. Cowed by life, Odd doesn't protest, not when she's deformed as she is. Born with a combination of rare birth defects, Odd's eyes are a startling and dreadful red. Demon eyes is the first thought that springs to mind. The little girl takes care to hide them behind dark sunglasses, something her mother insists on, except when she's trading freak-show peeks for dollars or drinks.

Good in parts but...
I realize this is fiction. The book is written by a man of so I expected his representation of the Bible to be different. Although, for the most part, Joshua represented Jesus well. I was confused about the message I got about the Bible being not so important.

enlightening story, but LOUSY narration
I enjoyed hearing another Joshua story, since I find them to be so enlightening and they bring so much joy to my heart. The narration, however, was truly awful and distracted me from truly hearing our Lord's message. I have purchased several other audiobooks in the same series and I sincerely hope that their narration improves.

Great story
Reflects Jesus's love for us and not judging. Acceptance of those around us regardless how we look or say. Highly recommend this audio book.

A good reminder of how we should behave and treat each other according to Christ’s teachings
This book is of value to help us to see our current situation in the US and how kindness not hate is our way to peace in our country and world.
