About this listen
(Romans 4:17, NKJV, emphasis added)
God gives life! The Bible gives us ten instances of people being raised from the dead. Three instances in the Old Testament, and seven instances in the New Testament. Jesus gives joy and life wherever he goes.
In the Old Testament, Elijah and Elisha each raised one person from the dead. There was even a dead man who came into contact with Elisha’s bones who came back to life.
There are three instances of Jesus raising people from the dead in the New Testament.
God raised Jesus from the dead. Jesus was the first-fruits of the resurrection.
When Jesus died on the cross, there was an earthquake and the curtain in the temple was torn in in two from top to bottom and tombs were opened. The bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead. They left the cemetery after Jesus’ resurrection, went into the holy city of Jerusalem, and appeared to many people.
The New Testament book of Acts describes Peter raising one person from the dead and Paul raising one person from the dead.
Jesus not only physically resurrects people from the dead, but he also restores and resurrects family relationships and marriages.
Jesus can restore your financial health, your physical health, and anything else that was lost, destroyed, or stolen can be restored.
How do you raise those who are spiritually dead? We are born spiritually dead. We are made spiritually alive by being born-again of the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(John 3:16, KJV, emphasis added)
God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, Jesus, to be the propitiation or sacrifice for our sin, so we could have eternal life in heaven in the presence of God.
In the Gospel of John chapter 3, Jesus tells Nicodemus that you must be “born again” to enter the kingdom of God. Born of the Spirit of God. This is when the Holy Spirit first takes up residence in the heart of the believer.
This book is about restoration and resurrection.
