About this listen
After living a miserable life with her aunt, ten year old orphan Jane Eyre is sent to Lowood, a boarding school for poor children. Within her petite frame and simple manner lies a heart full of passion and spirit. Jane learns to hide her temper, but the injustices of the world still burn in her soul.
At the age of eighteen, she takes a job as governess in the home of Edward Rochester, but soon realizes that there is something odd in the house and regularly sees shadowy figures and hears voices. As she and her new employer develop a deep affection for each other, the secret of the Rochester household threatens to keep them apart.

Story
Jane Eyre follows the emotions and experiences of eponymous Jane Eyre, her growth to adulthood, and her love for Mr. Rochester, the byronic master of Thornfield Hall. The novel contains elements of social criticism, with a strong sense of morality at its core, but is nonetheless a novel many consider ahead of its time given the individualistic character of Jane and the novel's exploration of sexuality, religion, and proto-feminism.

Story
Love is in the air when five sisters discover that a wealthy and eligible bachelor is suddenly within reach. But it is his friend, the haughty Mr. Darcy, who becomes smitten. For sheer storytelling delight and pure adventure, Treasure Island has never been surpassed. From the moment young Jim Hawkins first encounters the sinister Blind Pew at the Admiral Benbow Inn until the climactic battle for treasure on a tropic isle, the nevel creates scenes and characters that have firetd the imaginations of generations of readers. Universally acknowledged as one of the most popular and brilliant books ever written, "Jane Eyre" is Charlotte Brontë's masterpiece, often listed with Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" as among the finest romance novels ever published. The story follows the hardscrabble life of its eponymous lead character, Jane Eyre, who is orphaned at a young age and forced to live under the rule of her heartless Aunt Reed and her equally cruel children.
