About this listen

Julesville comes down with a case of civic duty! Thanks to a promise by Big Julie to leave office when the Halfling Invasion was repelled, folks are grumbling. Mainly because, well, the halfling invasion was repelled so long ago, it’s no longer even capitalized.

See?

To make matters worse, the newly arrived Magnus Opus von Magnus is stoking the fires of discontent as he vies for the job of Mayor. Does he have nefarious intentions for the town? Is he backed by powerful forces working in the shadows?

Of course he does- have you not read the other books in the series??

To try and stop Magnus’ power-grab, Flora O. Willowfeet agrees to run against him. Petite, quiet Flora plans to run an aboveboard campaign and beat Magnus fair and square. Until Grimbledung takes it upon himself to be Flora’s campaign manager. Setting up meet and greets, speaking about her platform, getting endorsements… is not what he’s doing.

Grimbledung’s plan involves the tried and true method of “Vote Early. Vote Often.” So a massive ballot-stuffing campaign is managed by Grimbledung! That’s what a campaign manager does, right?

Since there’s always a love story in the wings, Cherí and Colossus finally tie the knot. Literally. Moved by the ceremony, Pinky proposes to Big Julie! Once Julie is finally found- hiding in her windmill- things settle down between her and Pinky.

When all is said and done, the election ends with everything going smoothly and a winner declared. Mostly.
