About this listen

It’s Murder in Wenlock Wenlock is a small town and as such there might be characters in this story you think you recognise, or even know. But that is only your personal interpretation and bias. The characters in this story are fictitious and any resemblance to persons, living or dead is purely coincidental. Bill expected to come across a few unforeseen challenges, when he purchased a property in Wenlock to renovate. What he didn’t expect was for one of those to be a body buried in the concrete, in the old extension. Whose body it is and how long it has been there, are just a couple of the questions that need an answer, let alone who might be responsible for the body being put there in the first place. Four couples have recently moved to Wenlock, at around the same time as the body was discovered. None of them are lifelong partners. In fact the longest that any of the couples have been together is five years. One couple have only been together for a year. None of the eight proclaim publicly to having been to Wenlock prior to buying their new home there. But one of them has been to Wenlock before. One of them may well be responsible for the body being buried in the concrete. David Petrich has spent most of his life, from his teens onwards, looking after his mother and then after she died, his father too. He has been tied to the family home, while his sister has got on with her life in London. Just when the time comes that he can concentrate on what he wants to do, he becomes very ill too. It is suggested he writes a will. He does, and when the copy of it goes astray on its way to him, in the post from the solicitor, it is Jay who delivers it to him. I am Jay (that is not the name I go by now). I am maybe one of these eight newbies to Wenlock, but then maybe I am not. You will only find out about me by reading this story. I have had a challenging past, compared to other people. I was assaulted physically by my father and then by my mother when I was young, before being taken into care. That too was not always a pleasant experience. The story will follow me throughout my childhood and into adulthood, before moving onto how I came to be in a position to exploit and plunder the wealth of my prey. I am sure that there are many more people out there, both like the prey and like Jay. Crime Fiction Mystery
