About this listen

After three failed seasons and a disastrous jilting, Lady Dorothea Beaumont has had more than enough of her family's scheming. She won't domesticate a duke, entangle an earl, or vie for a viscount. She will quietly exit to her aunt's Irish estate for a life of blissful freedom. Until an arrogant, sinfully handsome duke singles her out for a waltz, making Thea the most popular belle of the season.

The duke ruined her plans, and he'll just have to fix them.

Dalton, Duke of Osborne, is far too heartless for debutantes or marriage - he uses dalliances and public spectacle to distract from his real purpose: finding the man who destroyed his family. When his search leads to Ireland, the last thing he needs is the determined, achingly innocent Thea, who arrives in the dead of night demanding he escort her to her aunt. His foolish agreement may prove his undoing. The road to the Emerald Isle is fraught with unforeseen dangers, but the greatest peril of all might just be discovering that he has a heart...and he's losing it to Thea.

Contains mature themes.

predictable even the sex scene

I spent a lot of time during this book saying oh that's going to happen next and then it happened. if you're looking for a cliche romance novel with one solid theme for the evening love triangle then this is the book for you!

Wonderful

Wonderfully written and perfectly performed. This second book on the series is just as wonderful as the first.

Better than the first - Good story & FUN

I knew I would enjoy Dalton's story. This was fun from the start. I enjoyed it more than the first book in the series.

I really like this series. It isn't going to stop the presses - but good solid romance.

Good Read

Great narrator, plausible storyline, likeable characters. Our runaway Heroine didn't intend to run away but I am glad the she did. After the goings on in the first book she deserved to find a place just for herself.

One of my favorite books!

If I only had a Duke, is now one of my favorite books! This book was funny, mysterious and all together enjoyable. It had a great story by Lenora Bell, a favorite author new to me, as I this is my second book of hers. It also had an extraordinary performance by narrator Beverley A Crick, as always. This is also an excellent series, all of the books may be read as stand alone though. I must run. The next book is available!

Good book

Any additional comments?

I did not read the first book in the series, but the second book was a great stand alone book. It mentioned what happened in the first book, but only as background because it was not necessary to this story. The heroine was most likable and independent. The narration was very good.

Excellent Story, Writer and Narrator. Loved it All!

I do not usually review even the most enjoyable books and popular authors. BUT, this Historical Romance, of which I read many, just had a superior quality and level of story telling content that surpasses many I have read. Everything was done perfectly and enhanced by the excellent narrator Beverley Crick. I had never heard her before the two books in this series, but will look for her now! Her reading and interpretation of every voice was spot on and more important in a romance, her narration of the love making moments were absolutely riveting and sensual, passionate and touching and most important to me not gratuitous, not xxx rated, but tactfully described. So you did not feel like you were listening to porn.
My ONLY wish is that Lenora Bell has MORE novels coming soon!!
Two is not enough for this great romance writer.

The First Was Much Better

The sophomore effort in this series lacked credible passion compared to the first book. Given that this Duke was "experienced" he certainly didn't score any points for originality with Thea. I'd think two teenagers in a car could produce better steam.
