About this listen

Iceland is known as the Land of Fire and Ice, a dramatic description and an apt one for this most northern European nation. With its incredible natural beauty, dramatic landscapes, and rich Nordic culture, a visit to Iceland is a must for any curious traveler keen to see a different side of Europe.

In Iceland you will experience volcanoes and glaciers, the northern lights, encounters with incredible wildlife, and a friendly and welcoming culture born out of a rich Scandinavian heritage. Two-thirds of the population live in the capital city, Reykjavik, and it is there that most travelers begin their time exploring all that this island has to offer. With so much to see and do, it's worth getting out of the capital city on one of the many organized tours. You can see sights like the Blue Lagoon, the national parks, and spectacular scenery.

Whatever your reason for visiting Iceland, you can be assured of a warm welcome and plenty of adventure opportunities in an incomparable landscape!

Just got back from Iceland and now realize in retrospect that this book must have been paid for by Greyline which is the biggest tour company there. The author writes as though he hasn't got a set preference, but keeps suggesting THEIR tours as best after his description (which is arguable). That said at 30 minutes it's a pretty good overview of the various tours they offer -- which are for the most part the same as what any other tour company working out of Iceland offers, and what you could see while there,
