About this listen
Dead men tell no tales, but they sure make some excellent teachers.
Have you ever had someone give you the platitude that death is just a "natural part of life"? Christians know better. Truth is, death was never intended to be part of the human experience. Sin brought death into the world. It is a result of our disobedience to God and his ideal plan for humanity.
Death is not natural. It's not pretty. It's never dignified. It's part of a curse. And no one knows that truth better than a forensic death investigator, who looks death in the eyes on an almost daily basis.
This book is a fascinating collection of real-life and unusual death investigations as it can only be told by someone who's experienced it every day for the last 25 years. Though the subject matter might sound macabre, the message inside is one of great hope for living a more abundant life and developing a closer relationship with the one who has defeated death: the creator of life.

My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Interesting and thought-provoking
I loved this book. It’s true stories from the author’s real work experience and how he’s found life lessons and biblical principles in everyday experiences. That is, if your everyday experiences include investigating death. I find faith lessons in my mundane paper-pushing life all the time, so I really enjoyed reading about someone else’s spiritual growth with a much more interesting foundation.

Awesome
I loved this book. It is an interesting way to teach biblical truth. Kent, I met you briefly at Robinsonfest in early May 2023 when we all descended on St. Augustine’s. I wish I was able to chat with you a bit more. So glad to have an autograph copy. We’ll done!

don't waste your time
I am normally a fervent fan of RC Bray and would listen to that man red me his grocery list. However this book has taught me the limit to my own fandom. Anticipating some anecdotal dark humor I was mislead. This book uses stories of others misfortune to preach pretensions religious zeal on others for four long hours.
