Story
Edit Better was made for video editors who consider themselves advanced hobbyists or growth-minded professionals, artists who know that the tools of editing matter far less than the knowledge of how to use those tools powerfully. This audiobook does not illuminate the workings of Avid, Final Cut, or Premiere, and is not a meditation on film editing. What it is: a provocative, wide-ranging collection of strategies and tactics for the creative application of TV and video editing, no matter your editing tools.

little gem
I won't claim to be coming from any level of experience, nor should I need to. I expected very little from this and got wowed. It actually is exactly what I needed to hear. If any statement could be applied the viewpoints of what one may wish to call common sense, then this will support or contrast your views. Many of the points are not what I would imagine to be "common sense" and you'd waist plenty of internet search time trying to compile a how-to of such technique. If you are listening, you are bound to learn something. It's short and inexpensive - You're not going to lose your backside here, and I'm telling you... I really like it.

Great, but far too short
At just under 90 minutes, I thought the audiobook was far too short. Then, at the end, I understood why... it seems to be a precursor to a larger pitch complete with rates, etc. That said, it was one of the better editing related books I've encountered so far. If the author wrote another book I'd certainly consider it again, although it would have to be longer.

beginner no fluff
one of the reviewers said that there was a plug at the end. this is one of the softest plugs that I've ever seen the person offers to help you edit video for free. I liked reading this and I'll be listening to it again there was no fluff. it is very basic material what cuts you use in what sequences how to think about doing multiple music tracks and cutting them together and it's a little on the basic side but you knew that because it's only an hour and a half long.
there is a lightning round of editing tips in the epilogue and in it there are things like buy a better computer, get a faster hard drive, organize your files, name your files, and set yourself a time limit for how long you're going to spend on each project.
