About this listen
Mankind drove back the Imperium at Ganog 7, but it was a pyrrhic victory. Their fleets are shattered, and it will take months to rebuild - time they do not have.
Nolan and T'kon are sent to the Azi home world. Their orders - trick the Azi Clan into bringing the location of the Coalition shipyards to the Empress. When the Ganog fleets come, Fizgig and the Coalition fleets will be waiting in ambush.
Yet neither the Coalition, nor the Empress are aware of the true threat. The Nameless Ones have returned, and their seekers are everywhere. They will stop at nothing to unseat the Empress, and seize control of the Imperium for their dark masters.
Only the Tigris Khar, trapped on Imperalis, can save her. Caught in a web of duty and honor, the warrior must choose. If he saves his enemy, he damns himself, but if he refuses to help, then the entire galaxy will burn.

In this incisive memoir, Steve Lukather tells the complete Toto story. He also lifts the lid on what went on behind the closed studio doors, shedding light on the unique creative processes of some of the most legendary names in music: from Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, and Elton John to Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen, and Aretha Franklin. Lukather’s extraordinary tale also encompasses the dark side of stardom and the American Dream. Frank, engaging, and often hilarious, The Gospel According to Luke is no ordinary rock memoir.

Intrigue stunning combat, scheming, full-on sequel
Hold the Line starts with a rather interesting look at the Ganog inner workings as Takkar gets to go back to the Imperial homeworld and face his Empress, telling her about the worst defeat of the Ganog in over 400yrs.
However, this is where we really get to see some of the real plots of the story unfolding in the inner folds of the Imperial Palace, where Utfa, one of the Empresses advisors, who is part of the ‘Seeker’ caste, who worship the Nameless ones, is slowly gaining the power he needs.
Without giving too much away, as we move through the book, from the Imperial Palace, to Takkar’s ship and clan, to Nolan and T’Kon who are on the Azi homeworld trying to get the Azi to join them in exchange for a working Planetstrider, at each of these locations, we find a large amount of the Seeker Caste. Everyone is beginning to get worried about what this means.
As Nolan tries to get the Azi to work with them, T’Kon is captured, allowing a trap to be set.
In the meantime, Admiral Fizgig is setting the trap, hoping to lead Takkar and the rest of his forces to take out the Coalition ship yards, or so they think.
This is a book that has multiple plots and schemes, as chess pieces are moved into place for several brutal battles that will decide the outcomes and fates of several things. However, all is not as it seems, and maybe, everyone is going to realise that they are facing the wrong enemy.
There are some of the most incredible battle scenes in this book, not just in space, nor on the ground, but the hand to hand combat is utterly amazing. The descriptive work that has gone into writing some of these scenes is truly masterful, breathtaking in its creativity, and totally captivating, you won’t be able to put it down once you start.
Another great aspect of this book is that the characters all get some attention, a bit of development, some growth in their story, something that is commonly ignored in this type of book. It just adds to the depth of the story, making it that much more interesting and worth the read.
This is an epic series and not to be missed.
As with part 1, Ryan Kennard Burke is just outstanding in his Narration of this audiobook. His range and quality of voices is beyond exceptional. As I stated previously, he doesn’t just ‘Narrate’ the story, he lives it for you, each of the characters comes alive, and you can feel their successes, their failures, their victories and losses. He does a wonderful job of creating both male and female characters, and clearly enunciating each word so that it is easy to understand. More to the point, he has a great voice to listen to, nice and relaxing, making anything he relates a great listen.

Great Continuation of the Ganog Wars trilogy.
Hold the Line is a great continuation of the Ganog Wars trilogy as well as the Void Wraith trilogy. I highly recommend listening to the previous books before listening to this one. Our favorite characters from the previous book are back, with lots of great new characters are introduced as well. This book focused a little less on the mech combat and more on infantry (kind of) fighting and space battles. That being said it’s still a great continuation of the story and definitely worth a listen. The story is truly original and definitely surprised me a few times. The narrator continues to do an amazing job with all of the characters voices, and I don’t know if I could go back to actually reading it, versus listening. I look forward to listening to book three.
The author gifted me a copy of this book with no expectation of me posting a review. This review is my unbiased opinion.

As always Chris Fox's writing kept me hooked though the story didn't advance as far as I hoped. The narration by Ryan Kennard Burke was excellent as always. I hope the next book will be even better.

I loves this series!
This is a fantastic series, though there is much that can be fleshed out and turned into several books *hint hint*. I was disappointed the way the previous trilogy ended so abruptly, but hopefully the gaps can be filled in especially from the Primo side. The audiobook versions are my favorite because I can listen to them on the long commute to work, the narrator does a great job in bringing the story to life. Hopefully, they'll be released more quickly in the future ;)
