About this listen
Noah bat Zelophehad has tended her father’s herds and flocks since she was a girl. With God’s gift of land, she plans to make her sisters wealthy with livestock. But when a conniving clansman takes a liking to the bold shepherdess, his scheme may snatch her from the fields she loves.
Only one person understands Noah’s gifts with the animals — Jeremiah, the mute shepherd who has been her field companion for years. After the walls of Jericho collapse, God stays silent in the battle of Ai, leaving Jeremiah wounded and Noah’s marital status in jeopardy. But Noah remains faithful to God and her animals and trusts that she will be able to forge a future with her sisters, even when enemies abound.
Will the daughters of Zelophehad be able to settle their land together, or will Noah get left behind, trapped in the tent of a troublemaker?

The prophet Nehemiah's cousin can speak numerous languages, keep complex accounts, write on rolls of parchment and tablets of clay, and solve great mysteries. There is only one problem: She's a woman in a man's court. In her early childhood years, Sarah experienced the death of her mother and her father's subsequent emotional distance, and she came to two conclusions: God does not care about me, and my accomplishments are the measure of my worth.

They each have something to prove...
I've really been waiting for this story since I was about halfway through the first book in The Daughters Of Zelophehad series. I couldn't help but wonder how a romance between Noah and Jeremiah might play out. Trust me, I can say that in all my wonderings I had no real clue where Barbara M. Britton would take these two before they can conquer the seemingly insurmountable odds and find the love they've each been hoping and praying for.
I wasn't disappointed in Heavenly Lights at all and it more than met my expectations. The backdrop of the fall of Jericho, disaster at Ai, and the continuing conquest of Canaan, is quite fascinating in and of itself. The sweet romance thread and the suspense thread were nicely done and complemented each other.
I've listened to the first two books in this series in audiobook and I've enjoyed them both. The narrator for Heavenly Lights was different but she did an excellent job so I really didn't notice. I'd say the audio quality was good with no major issues. The listening experience was enjoyable and it did justice to Barbara M. Britton's Biblical fiction story. If you like the genre check into this book and series!

YHWH's Love & Plans Are For Everyone Who Seek HIM
Overall the narration is pretty good, but I really wish that Jaclyn Whitt had checked for some pronunciation. Basemath is not "base+math".. it's Bah-sah-math. That's not at all hard to say. The name is used frequently enough to make it's mispronunciation annoying!! The story itself sounds like a rancher's daughter wrote it, which gives Noah, the main character, a lot more personality. I love the way that following YHWH's Torah laws of clean and unclean is provision for the answering of prayers and Jeremiah's bravery. The fact that Jeremiah is a deaf mute individual doesn't make him any less worthy of love and a blessed life. So often those that are disabled are "left behind" so-to-speak, by other authors. YHWH's love and plans include everyone who seeks to do HIS will. Excellent!!

Praise for BOTH Author & Narrator!
Having started with Mahlah's Journey in this series of tales on the daughters of Zelophehad, I HAD to read more about these brave, strong girls! Noah's Journey is as wonderfully told and narrated as the first book. I instantly felt the camaraderie of the girls and cheered their struggles to claim their father's land. I went through the first two books so quickly that now I am compelled to see how the series finishes, so I'm off to download Milcah's Journey! I encourage everyone who is seeking good, clean, Christian reading to join me!

A truly beautiful story of the strength of sisters
I truly enjoyed listening to this story and how the sisters continued to fight for the land God had promised them through Moses. This story allows us to hear about some of God's most amazing miracles as His people come out of the wilderness and into the land of Canon. Wars must be won to take the promised land and when it is the husbands and loved ones doing the fighting it brings much stress against the sisters. They also get a first time look at what happens when you worship idols. This is a really great story and I would enjoy reading or listening to more of Ms. Britton's books.
I received a free code for this book from Audiobooks Unleashed to listen to on Audible. This review is my own honest opinion.
