About this listen
The beloved fantasy romance sensation by New York Times bestselling author TJ Klune, about love, loyalty, betrayal, and joy. The Bennett family has a secret: They're not just a family, they're a pack. Heartsong is Robbie Fontaine's story.
All Robbie Fontaine ever wanted was a place to belong. After the death of his mother, he bounces around from pack to pack, forming temporary bonds to keep from turning feral. It’s enough—until he receives a summons from the wolf stronghold in Caswell, Maine. Life as the trusted second to Michelle Hughes—the Alpha of all—and the cherished friend of a gentle old witch teaches Robbie what it means to be pack, to have a home. But when a mission from Michelle sends Robbie into the field, he finds himself questioning where he belongs and everything he’s been told.
Whispers of traitorous wolves and wild magic abound—but who are the traitors and who the betrayed? More than anything, Robbie hungers for answers, because one of those alleged traitors is Kelly Bennett—the wolf who may be his mate.
The truth has a way of coming out. And when it does, everything will shatter.
The Green Creek Series is for adult listeners.

The day Vic salvages and repairs an unfamiliar android labelled “HAP,” he learns of a shared dark past between Hap and Gio–a past spent hunting humans. Three years ago, Bear McKenna’s mother took off for parts unknown with her new boyfriend, leaving Bear to raise his six-year-old brother Tyson, aka the Kid. Somehow they’ve muddled through, but since he’s totally devoted to the Kid, Bear isn’t actually doing much living. With a few exceptions, he’s retreated from the world, and he’s mostly okay with that - until Otter comes home. Otter is Bear’s best friend’s older brother, and as they’ve done for their whole lives, Bear and Otter crash and collide in ways neither expect.

Story
In the spring of 1995, Nate Cartwright has lost everything: his parents are dead, his only brother wants nothing to do with him, and he's been fired from his job as a journalist in Washington, DC. With nothing left to lose, he returns to his family's summer cabin outside the small mountain town of Roseland, Oregon, to try and find some sense of direction. The cabin should be empty. It's not. Inside is a man named Alex. And with him is an extraordinary ten-year-old girl who calls herself Artemis Darth Vader. Artemis, who isn't exactly as she appears.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Paul Auster doesn't. Paul doesn't believe in much at all. He's thirty, slightly overweight, and his best features are his acerbic wit and the color commentary he provides as life passes him by. His closest friends are a two-legged dog named Wheels and a quasibipolar drag queen named Helena Handbasket. He works a dead-end job in a soul-sucking cubicle, and if his grandmother's homophobic parrot insults him one more time, Paul is going to wring its stupid neck.

Max Remus couldn't care less about finding his mate—unlike the rest of his fate-obsessed pack. He totally prefers hanging with his bestie, eating his dad's steak sandwiches, and drawing in his trusty sketchbook. But all that is about to change at the Blue Moon Festival—a summer camp where Elite Pack wolves go to find their mates. The festival is a rite of passage for every teen werewolf, and this year's festival will be one to howl home about. The alpha's son, Jasper Apollo, is attending for the first time.

This is my favorite of the green creek series so far. I have never connected with a character more than I do with Robbie. When listening to his backstory, I couldn’t help but cry. Being in the foster care system, I related my to Robbie so much in only building temporary bonds with the families that came in and out of my life. Until my two dads adopted me, I finally felt like I belonged somewhere. I am so glad that is Robbie’s experience as well. After going through all that hurt and trauma.
Thank you Tk Klune for this series.

Beautifully tragic
I was so completely confused at the start of this book. Bravo!!! At first I thought I had waited too long between finishing Ravensong and starting Heartsong. Then I thought maybe we were starting Heartsong a long time ago, kind of like with Wolfsong and Ravensong. We would get some overlap of the timelines and then we would get a bit of time moving forward. But no. It's even better than that and it was so confusing and really set the tone for Robbie's experience. I loved it.
Robbie is this little orphan baby who just wants to have a pack and an alpha. He doesn't ask for much and he's just kind of bumbling through for the most part.
Kelly is this solid, sweet man who has just always been himself. He knows what matters and he knows what's right and he fights hard for those things. But he's also fully capable of sitting back and enjoying them, which is more than a lot of people can say.
Robbie and Kelly have this whole entire life together, and then it's ripped from them. They have to rebuild all of that trust and love together. And they do and it's so beautiful. It's this beautiful, tragic thing.
Can we take a second to talk about the villain though? We've had a few in this series, but they can all be traced back to Robert MFin Livingstone. He is the most entitled man and it pisses me off so much. It's an exceptionally scary situation that's all too familiar. He feels entitled to people as belongings. So he never does anything to earn or deserve their love and loyalty, he just expects it. Then when they have a mind of their own and tell him to his stupid face that he's an evil POS, he is flabbergasted and does some evil-er stuff! What a great villain. I hate him. But like. SUCH VILLAIN!

An Ace character that isn't just a side note. <3
I love this author and the way he rights the LBGTQ+ and people of color in his stories. Ricco is by far one of my favorite characters in this series and Kelly being Ace and still making it work with Robbie, makes me so happy. I started listening to Wolfsong four days ago and when I was done with it I had to by the next on right away. I lost a night of sleep with that one and it was worth it. Heartsong made me cry more than the first too and when it was over it left me feeling blue blue blue...

My Personal Favorite of the Series
After finishing the series I decided to leave a review on this book since it stood out to me as my uncontested favorite of the four books. Heartsong mixes the best aspects of the series together. It combines aspects of fantasy, romance, friendship in a fresh and touching manner. But the saddest part of listening to this book for me was watching the "time left" duration slowly dwindle down and knowing that I'll never be able to experience Heartsong for the first time again.

Emotional and fantastic listen!
This one tugged at every single heartstring. I teared up more than once. I can't wait to have a final resolution to the mess the wolves find themselves in, but I don't want to say goodbye to the pack I've come to love. Another outstanding read/listen. This series is not to be missed!

Just when I thought the 2nd book couldn’t be topped
I love this book! I am an arc reader, but I will leave an honest review. As with all the green creek series, this book is from a different pair of eyes. The first was Ox, the second was Gordo, and this is from Robbie’s point of view. We got to know Robbie a little in the past book and I wasn’t sure how I felt about him. I got some home wrecker vibes, but I liked how he seemed to try to always do the right thing. This book was amazing! Just like the others, it left in a cliff hanger! I can’t wait to dive into the next book! The audible versions are outstanding! I felt like TJ Klune’s writing gets better and better as these books continue. The first was a three star for me but the second and third are definite five stars. I rank it five stars because it makes me feel something. I’m moved, there’s loss, heartbreak, love, friendship, fighting, and most importantly pack. The bonds between family are stronger than ever. I was excited to find out who the mystery wolf was and it left my jaw on the floor! Heart pounding battles and several “hold your breath moments.” I laughed and I cried. I felt the roller coaster ride of Heartsong and I encourage people to give this series a shot. I love how each book is from a different POV. It keeps it fun and makes you fall in love with several characters. Werewolves and witches. I live in Oregon, so the fact that the setting is mostly in Oregon makes me happy. Brilliant!

Heartbreakingly good
Although different from the other two before it. Heartsong holds its own as an installment of this series. The storytelling and plot take this series to a whole new level. No one could ever make me hate you Robbie!

Hauntingly beautiful! Awesomely wonderful!
I am nowhere near eloquent enough to find the right words to describe this amazing series, let alone this specific book. So, if anyone actually reads this review, please just know I’m trying. Because, after just finishing this book (for the 2nd time (about a year & 100+ books after the 1st)) it has once again left me feeling ALL the feels, but still somewhat speechless…
Put simply, if a bit crudely (sorry), it is just fucking brilliant! You might not think that a book in a series about werewolves and witches could ever be considered brilliant, or as my headline states, “hauntingly beautiful” or “awesomely wonderful,” but trust me: This. One. Just. Is.
The plot itself takes the reader/listener on a rollercoaster of emotions from the very beginning and doesn’t let up until the last sentence. And even then, it leaves you itching to immediately start the next book (‘Brothersong’). Each and every character in the series is so vividly written and well developed that you can’t help but fall in love with, and root for, them all—and for wonderfully different, even conflicting, reasons. That, added to consistently engrossing plots and storylines in each book, would already make for some remarkably great reading, right? But wait! There’s more.
TJ Klune’s writing in the entire ‘Green Creek’ series is gorgeous and captivating, but there’s something about the prose in ‘Heartsong’ specifically that feels especially lovely and enchanting, even poetic or lyrical at times. And then, you have a super-talented narrator like Kirt Graves, who adds even more vibrancy and fathomless depths of emotion to this already-beautiful story! There’s not much, if anything else, you could possibly ask for.
Definitely, absolutely, 100% worth a whole credit, or the monetary cost of this audiobook! I just cannot say enough great things about—or give enough praise to—‘Heartsong’ or the ‘Green Creek’ series, or TJ Klune, or Kirt Graves!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ALL THE STARS!!

Another wonderful installment to the series.
Robbie’s unique journey to fitting into the pack and into Kelly’s life added another beautiful layer to this magical saga. TJ Klune continues to build a world that you never want to leave, and Kirt Graves continues to flex his acting chops with his incredible narration.

Engaging new entry into the series
It took me a while to start this book because it was from the perspective of my least liked characters from the other books. The author did a great job giving him a struggle that really hooked me. Loved how his story also informed us on big bad. Like the last book, the last couple of chapters slowed the momentum right on down. I hope we get more insight into the big bad’s side of the story next.
