About this listen

Award-winning author Jae’s newest lesbian novel is a medical romance with a few unexpected turns.

Dr. Hope Finlay loves her job as an emergency room physician, especially since it allows her only brief encounters with her patients. She learned early in life not to get attached to anyone because it never lasts.

Laleh Samadi, a waitress at her aunt’s restaurant, is the exact opposite. She easily connects with people and loves her big, boisterous Persian family, despite their tendency to meddle in her life.

When Laleh needs to be rushed to the ER with heart trouble, Hope saves her life. Afterwards, strange things begin to occur: Why does Laleh suddenly know even the most obscure diseases, while Hope is fluent in Farsi?

Soon, they can no longer deny that there’s a mysterious connection between them - one that becomes stronger with each passing day.

Are they losing their minds...or their hearts?

Jae does it again. It is amazing

The depth of Jae as a writer is incredible. Every little thing is thoroughly thought out.. the characters believable, even if the story is a little out there. Her books are extraordinary.
The narration was excellent and a really excellent difference in voices. I will listen to Abagail again.

Every book by Jae is superb. If you enjoy romances, you will love her stories.

Original, fun, sweet

Toaster trope plus old world culture with a unique twist. It’s not super spicy but that is such a turn on when someone is describing discovering another woman’s body for the first time.

Great book!

I absolutely loved this book. The ending was a little dry for me. It felt like it needed a little bit more. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars for the performance is because of the way the narrators voice was a little too drawn out on some of Hope’s words. It bugged me for some reason “. Over all I would say a 4.9 over all!

the story was really good. not cheesy like i was kinda expecting given the whole mind meld thing it insinuated in the description. the narrator does an amazing job on the voices and accents, i was really impressed.

Loved this book

I've read every book that jae has written and this is my favorite. I love the way she weaves together the best of the Persian culture with that of the American culture. A very good read.

Sparks can happen with a Heartbeat

Just loved the characters and cultural aspect of this book. Right from the start you can't help but fight for the right ones to get together.

Another great romance by Jae

Jae is one of my favorite authors - this book is one of of my favorites by Jae - I fell in love with Laleh and Hope. I also loved seeing that Jill is doing well and still madly in love with Crash
