About this listen
Best-selling author Maddy Fitch, while researching material for a new novel, returns to her hometown of Harbour Falls to investigate an unsolved disappearance that has haunted the tiny Maine coastal town for the past four years. Although the case has gone cold, Maddy soon discovers that the prime suspect, Adam Ward, is hotter than ever.
The sexy, secretive Mr. Ward now makes his home on an isolated island near the coast, so Maddy takes up residence nearby to find out why this enigmatic man lives in such a secluded place. Is it because the missing person at the heart of the case, a young woman, was engaged to Adam at the time of her disappearance? Did the prime suspect perhaps move to escape the town's scrutiny, or is he hiding something much more sinister?
As Maddy plunges into the case, she and Adam are drawn together. Should she fight her growing attraction to a possibly dangerous man? The mystery deepens, and the list of suspects, people who all had reasons for wanting to see the missing young woman gone, grows. Maddy hopes that by solving the mystery, Adam will be proven innocent of any involvement, and they can then move forward with their relationship. But as she uncovers clues that begin to lead suspicion away from Adam, new secrets emerge that leave her questioning everything. Maddy continues to close in on the truth, threatening to blow the lid off the whole mystery. But what she doesn't realize is that she's actually caught up in someone's very dangerous game.
Lies, secrets, deceptions. In Harbour Falls, nothing is ever what it seems. This steamy novel immerses the listener in an intricate story line that will keep them glued till the very last second.

In the dark til the very end!
When a book can keep you guessing until the very end, it is obviously the best kind. SR Grey has started this series of Harbour Falls with such a story. Maddie Fitch is an author who has come home to investigate the disappearance of girl she knew, so she can write a true crime novel. Involving many people that she knows, she decides to go undercover with her investigation pretending to have writer's block. When she starts to dig though, things begin to get very muddy, and dangerous, leaching each person encountered it seems linked to the case.Along with that whodunnit feel, romance is blossoming too. Adam Ward, owner of Fade Island and classmate of Maddie is actively pursuing her, and their chemistry is off the charts. Her circle of friends is still around, and you will find there is no one that is not under suspicion as you listen. Just when you think the answer is clear, another turn in the case will change your mind. With so many twists and turns, and the surprise ending, you will definitely want to come back Harbour Falls and see what this town has in store next.
This is my first listen by Kelley Ernst, and I really enjoyed it. She has a very soothing voice, with many facets and is well paced. Her characters are easily distinguishable and made for a great listen.

just okay...
the narrator's soft voice and delivery was just not for me. made it through the whole book but won't be listening to others in the series. The storyline was fairly predictable and characters did not seem very well-developed.

I really wanted to love this
What did you like best about Harbour Falls? What did you like least?
I love a good thriller, for me this book fell short. I am not sure if I read it if I would like it more. The writing for me felt a bit basic as well as the plot. I really wanted to love it!
Would you be willing to try another book from S.R. Grey? Why or why not?
Yes. Just maybe in a different genre that the author writes
Did Kelley Ernst do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
I actually didn't like when she narrated in the Adam's voice.
Was Harbour Falls worth the listening time?
It is a very long audio book, and I had to stop for a bit then pick it back up. For me, no it was not worth the listening time :( I kept waiting to feel engaged and fall in love with the characters.
Any additional comments?
I felt like the story was a bit all over the place. I felt like one minute Adam was major alpha then the next he wasn't. The plot twist fell short. I just really wish I could have loved it more

Great Read
Harbour Falls (A Harbour Falls Mystery #1) was a great read by S.R. Grey. Maddy Fitch is a best-selling author who is researching material for her new novel. Her research takes her to her hometown of Harbour Falls, she is investigating the disappearance that haunted the town for the last four years. The case has gone cold and the prime suspect is Adam Ward. Maddy is looking for answers and it winds up putting Maddy in jeopardy. During the investigation Maddy also gets closer to Adam. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

Cold Case Mystery
Maddie is back home in Maine and staying, temporarily, on the private island name Fade Island. Her cover is that she’s trying to work through her writer’s block, but in fact is there to write a book on a cold case. The fiancée of millionaire, Adam Ward, disappeared without a trace over 4yrs ago and, whole Adam was the primary suspect, he was never arrested. Maddie is determined to solve the case and starts investigating. What she did not account for is the attraction to Adam and, against her father’s wishes, starts a relationship with Adam. Someone does not want this mystery solved and Maddie comes under suspicion for a murder. Who is the murderer? Is it Adam? Is it a former hs friend who’s now hooked on drugs & alcohol? This story is enthralling and can’t wait for the other books in the trilogy to be out on audiobook.

Loved it!
Would you listen to Harbour Falls again? Why?
I loved this book. Yes, this is one that I will listen to again and again.
What did you like best about this story?
I believe I liked the fact that I had no idea who the protagonist was until the end. No. Idea. Maybe I am not that good at figuring it out but Grey certainly did keep me guessing.
What does Kelley Ernst bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Kelley is a good narrator. I would get frustrated listening in the car as I'm 80% deaf in my right ear and, of course, my speakers are on the right side. Sometimes she spoke a bit quickly or too low but that is probably due to my problem more than to her narration.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I am never able to listen to a book in one sitting.
Any additional comments?
This is a good mystery. I look forward to the sequel.

great narration. story okay.
I received this audiobook free in exchange for an honest review. I listen to A LOT of audiobooks and this one was just okay for me. I liked it, but I didn't love it. Maybe it was the suspense of the mystery, but it felt slow and just dragging on to get to the bottom of the mystery. I was bored in all the self-dialogue of Maddy's thoughts on maybe this and maybe that, and what about this, why oh why.... etc, etc.I felt like this could have been an 8 or 9 hour story instead of an over 13 hour listen. The romance was there, but I think I wanted more, as that's the genre I listen to most. The narrator did a good job. I wasn't crazy about her voice for the male characters, but overall I enjoyed her. Thank you Kellet Ernst for the free code.
