so far so good, wish it had some lesser expensive restaurants and places to stay, and no I am not talking hostels

Great italy travel guide
My wife and I used this guide extensively while we were in Italy and it was invaluable. Well written, with just the right amount of detail and easy to use maps. Really enhanced the quality of our touring. Probably not the best for hotel recommendations, but those can be made via many online travel booking web sites.

Best Travel Guide
Rick Steves gets such a great amount of poop for being Mr. Everything in movement nowadays yet I need to state his book on Italy is significantly more definite and valuable in contrast with the Lonely Planet version. Get over his over-presentation and exploit the abundance of skill he shares - in any event for those intending to make a trip to Italy.

A helpful travel guide.
A helpful travel guide. I want to thank the author for some great practical tips on how to avoid overspending money in Italy. This guide really explains a lot of small but yet important things that you need to understand before going to Italy. I highly suggested this book to others.

We are considering a trip to Italy soon and this guide book gives some good information about best times of year, best areas to visit, and local customs and protocols. It has been a good supplement to my online research.

Wonderful Data
Just returned from a 3 week tour of Italy and we used our Essential Italy book frequently. We visited all the cities (even the Cinque Terra region) and the book covered all regions. It offered highlights of the towns with added history and any type info needed. It pointed us in the right direction and allowed us then to discover our own favorite spots.
