"Det kunne være sjovt at prøve," siger Karin til Madsine. "Men det kommer altså til at koste 100 kroner.""Av!" tænker Madsine. "Hvordan skaffer jeg 100 kroner?" Men så får Madsine en idé. Den danske forfatter Poul Larsen (f. 1940) er oprindeligt uddannet kontorassistent og efterfølgende folkeskolelærer - et job, som han bestred i 30 år, før han for alvor vendt sin opmærksomhed mod forfattergerningen. Poul Larsen fik sin litterære debut i 1972 med digtsamlingen "Bare Digte" og har levet af at skrive siden 1995, hvor han stoppede som folkeskolelærer.
