About this listen
From a quiet street in a small town to the avenues of power in Washington, D.C, from the comfort of obscurity to the spotlight of radio and television, from a broken heart to a position of strength and responsibility, God wove the chords of my life in such twists and turns, it took a book to explain it all. If I knew why He called ME, I would tell you. My parents could have walked out of the pages of "Grapes of Wrath." My beginnings were unremarkable, yet God gave me a remarkable life. God's Velvet Hammer is my story.

Delightful Honesty
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to your story of your life. I began to listen to your show on American Family Radio when I heard your interview with Mark Larson on KCBQ. Your story is insightful, honest and funny, just like your radio presence. I am happy to have "met" you on radio and now in your biography.

I have enjoyed sandy rios on the radio...
...and for many years turn to her broadcasts, and now podcasts for trusted news of the World. I preordered her book which I couldn't get very far into with daily interruptions. So then the audible book in her sweet graceful and fun voice came out. I could listen while doing inside and outside chores ( live on farm) ..as I do with podcasts. I am just a year younger so remembered many things she wrote about the times. So much fun to read so just bought the book for a dear friend!

A vessel for God’s truth
I have been listening to Sandy Rios since she first joined AFR. I subscribed to her show on iTunes so that if I ever missed a day, I could go back and listen. I cried when I learned she would be leaving AFR, and counted the months until her new 24/7 podcast began. I now subscribe to that and never miss a show.
I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this book, and I loved hearing it in her voice. God has used her in tremendous ways over the years of her incredibly interesting life, and He is not done with her yet.
I don’t know that I could begin to pick out a favorite part of her story, as it is all one woven by God.
I think audible for making this available, and I thank you Sandy Rios for your unwavering love of our Lord and your indefatigable spirit and fight for truth, and the values that this country was founded upon.
