About this listen
Adoni is the daughter of Goddess Atargatis and a mortal Roman Warrior named Paul. Being half goddess and half mortal is an upset to the gods of Mount Olympus. To avoid ridicule, Atargatis moves to the magical island of Merr to give birth to Adoni. That happens in the same year as the birth of Christ.
The island of Merr is located near Bermuda and is within today’s boundaries of the Bermuda Triangle. Even in year one of the year of our lord, the area, known at that time as the Bermuda Sector, is a place of mysterious happenings.
Because Goddesses only age one month for every one year of common time, Adoni is 156 years old but has the body of a 13-year-old girl at the beginning of the story. The island of Merr, where she lives in Temple Valley, is under attack. The Roman Empire wants to conquer it and add it to the empire’s vast holdings.
Even at the goddess age of 13, Adoni is drawn into the conflict. She draws on her magical traits as half goddess to enlist the help of goddesses on Mount Olympus. She creates the Maids of Merr, an army of Mermaids, to fight the invasion. Even though the Roman Navy throws everything they have at the island of Merr, it is defeated. The island becomes known to them as the island of death where people and ships simply disappear.
With the help of Goddess Adoni, the first invasion is defeated but the Roman Empire has not given up. 156 years later, they attack the island again with genocide as their new objective. They begin by murdering everyone they can find. Because the male population is the first to engage them, the male population is the first to be eliminated. By that time, Adoni is 26 years old in goddess years. Once again, she assembles the Maids of Merr. Once again, the mermaids defeat the Roman Navy. The victory is bitter sweet. Although the Romans are defeated, the entire male population of Merr Island has been annihilated.
With no one to father children, the population of Merr is on a short fuse. Adoni leaves the island to find a mate to pass on the magic that lives within her bloodline. That bloodline continues through hundreds of generations which takes us into the first of the major modifications. That being Goddess Adoni: Deserve to Die. The prequel and the following novels will also be available as audio books on Amazon.
