About this listen
Young Ryan Jordan is exploring an old abandoned mining town with his father and sister on horseback. The empty wooden shacks, an old church, a cold wind rustling the sagebrush give the kids the creeps. On top of that, Ryan teases his sister about ghosts while holding in his own fear.
After they ride through the Boot Hill graveyard, with its forgotten graves, they settle in to their camper for the evening where Ryan must come to grips with his fear.

Ghost Town Story—With Humor
Mr Pond paints vivid mental images for the listener of abandoned buildings, a graveyard, the cold and wind. Coyote calls all add to the ghost adventure for Ryan and his sister. Even the two horses, Red and Sheba, take on their own personalities.
The interaction between brother Ryan and sister Beka brought a smile to my face and some levity to the story imagining Beka’s fear and Ryan’s rascally taunts. Their father shows infinite patience with his two kids.
The narrator does a great job giving the characters their own voices and personalities. I recommend this short listen and looking for more from Anthony Pond in print or audio format.
