About this listen
Away From It All:
Rustic Spankings From Lynn Carlyle and Lee Jordain
Enjoy this collection of stories that have something in common: they are all set in either the outdoors or a place of vacation. For example, House Of Solitude takes you to a remote prairie house owned by an obviously well-off man, but who has concealed his true identity. It seems that he is actually a very well-known author of western novels. When a pair of sisters arrive for a getaway, the younger of the two gets into a conversation with the owner of the resort home, and a mutual understanding developed between them that she is in need of some of the old-style guidance provided in some Western movies of the past.
In Fishing For Trouble, a recently married young couple go to a lakeside resort and decide to do some fishing from about but the young bride is very eager to get her man alone back in the cabin, and comically undermines his attempts to fish. Before long, she is being teased that she is in need of some type of penalty to be paid, and when she understands the cryptic comments from her husband, she becomes very interested.
Quite The Catch tells of a fetching literature editor who lives alone in a cabin by a lake. She put in long days of work, also taking time to fish and swim in the pond. But when a handsome young writer comes to see her for business reasons, she discovered that there are other things she may enjoy way more than matters related to that lake next to her house.
Tanned And Rested and On A Whim, both by Lee Jordain, tell the tales of a single woman going off for a vacation, only to find that not only the sun can get warm under the right circumstances.
Last of all, the Lynn Carlyle story Seclusion tells of an inadvertent coming together of a pair of acquaintances finding themselves stranded by weather and circumstances in a cabin high up on a hill. They cannot help but revisit the past and the missed opportunity they shared, but they do reconnect in a very warm manner.
