Covlan Moonstride’s thoughts continue returning to Gwenevere. Where is she? What happened to her? While such answers remain elusive, Covlan tracks a new form of Chilling—called Frostspitters—to the southern city of Lynford, where Frostspitter attacks have grown frequent and the people are in dire need of help. But who is creating these Frostspitters? What are they after? And why was one sent after Gwenevere?
The city of Lynford cannot endure much longer. Disappearances and Chilling attacks, frightfully occurring during the day, have grown more and more frequent. Lynford grows desperate in the face of The Chill and the mysterious force driving the Chillings to be ever more violent. Despite the people’s best efforts to defend themselves, all hope seems lost until Moonstride arrives.
