About this listen
Elizabeth Bennet is devastated by her sister’s elopement. Mr. Darcy’s ardent love for her leaves him no choice but to act.
Mr. Darcy has finally accepted that he wishes only for Elizabeth, and when they meet at Pemberley, he speaks plainly of his devotion. Despite their uncertain future, he is determined to assist the Bennet family – surely no young lady, however foolish, deserves to be Mrs. Wickham. And Darcy has a plan.
Jane falls prey to bewilderment and anger as Bingley returns to Hertfordshire. He hopes to renew their courtship, but Jane’s world was shaken by his departure and the cruelty of his sisters, and her views of those around her have changed considerably.
In the months since Elizabeth rejected his proposal, she has realized she cares greatly for Mr. Darcy. As they travel along the Great North Road to Gretna Green, they are able to enjoy one another’s companionship and conversation. But not everyone is pleased by Darcy’s involvement.
This is a sweet and clean, low angst Pride and Prejudice variation where all of the Bennet sisters have happy endings.

Miss Caroline Bingley has long been a thorn in the side of Fitzwilliam Darcy's friendship with Charles Bingley; the visit to Netherfield Park to help Bingley learn the craft of an estate manager has all the potential for disaster. But Darcy will not shirk, for his friendship with Bingley outweighs his distaste for the man's sister. In his defense, Darcy enlists his manservant, a man equally committed to ensure Miss Bingley will not become his master's wife.

Story
Elizabeth Bennet loathes insufferable Mr. Darcy. When a series of mishaps repeatedly throws them into each other’s company—first with her unconscious at Netherfield, then him injured at Rosings—Elizabeth begins to see a different side of the proud man she thought she knew. This tender, low-angst Regency variation of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice proves that pride does indeed come before a fall…and that, in this case, love always comes after.

Story
One distressing night in Ramsgate, Elizabeth Bennet impulsively offers Georgiana Darcy aid. Scandalous rumors soon surround the ladies and Fitzwilliam Darcy, forcing Elizabeth and Darcy, strangers to each other, to marry. Darcy despises everything about his marriage to the daughter of an insignificant country gentleman with vulgar relations. Georgiana, humiliated after a near-elopement with George Wickham and full of Darcy pride, hates her new sister. Their family look upon Elizabeth with suspicion and do little to hide their sentiments.

Story
Blended whiskey, blended family. Thomas Bennet is a successful second son, a man who went into trade when his older brother, Harold, inherited Longbourn. When Harold passes, Thomas and his two children (James and Elizabeth) return to Longbourn to live with Harold’s widow (Fanny) and four daughters (Jane, Mary, Catherine and Lydia). A full length novel that is a clean, low angst reimagining of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.

Story
A unique story in the Austenesque catalogue—a Viking era variation of Pride and Prejudice. Set in the late 800s when King Alfred the Great ruled in Wessex and Harold Fairhair united tribal Norway into one kingdom. Elizabeth’s courage had risen when faced with the fierce Viking, but what will she do when she finds herself as a stowaway on a Viking ship, heading for a major sea battle?

Story
After visiting her friend Charlotte Collins, Elizabeth leaves Kent carrying the distressing recollection of Mr Darcy’s marriage proposal. The letter he gave her after her harsh refusal has changed her opinion of the man and taught her how wrong she was in judging both Mr Darcy and Mr Wickham. On her way back to Longbourn, Elizabeth spends a few days in London, reunited with Jane and the Gardiners. A twist of fate brings her to a pawnbroker’s window, where she recognises a few objects related to Miss Darcy, reminding her of Mr Wickham’s betrayal and deceptions. Despite the conflict ...

much better than I anticipated
I read the summary and was underwhelmed until I started listening-very intriguing plot lines, characters had proper motivations. Laraba Kendig is one of my favorite authors for PP variations

Perfection
This was such an enjoyable listen with low angst and one of my favorite narrators. Squeaky clean with a wonderfully thorough epilogue describing each character’s life after the story concluded.

Surprised by brilliance.
Love how well done the story line is. Overall the various stories r great. Also love how God’s Word is threaded thru the entire story. Appreciate the logical progression used to enhance Austin’s original story.

Great story and narrator
No plot holes that I can think of, which is a great boon! The narrator does such a fantastic voice that I sometimes forget it's a male narrator; he does female voices so well! The story was quite good and while it is relatively low angst, there were still points where you laugh out loud due or yell out, "oh snap!" due to someone's audacity. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

Automatic purchase!
When you combine Laraba Kendig and Harry Frost it’s an automatic choice for me! This Darcy is truly in love with Elizabeth and will do whatever is necessary to make sure that they can be together. The growth in Lydia is encouraging and it makes one think that if a few things that if changed in canon what a different story it would have been but that’s what we all get to enjoy as so many talented writers bring us new perspectives to our favorite Pride and Prejudice classic. Many times when you see anything suggesting Gretna Green it’s a mad dash but this one is much slower with much character growth during that time. This will easily be a regular re-read / listen.

Pemberley to Gretna Green
Narrator Harry Frost has a real talent for adding sweet emotion to Laraba Kendig’s endearing prose in this novel. It’s a joy to listen to his work. It’s interesting how the original story is changed by altering Darcy’s reaction to Wickham when he locates the eloping couple. I liked the changes to Lydia’s outlook and loved Darcy’s devotion to Elizabeth, however, I personally prefer an unredeemed Caroline B.

Great story
I enjoyed this story very much. It starts with Lydia’s elopement. Mr Darcy does not want Wickham as a brother and has another approach. Great indeed. And to listen to Harry Frost’s narrative is great. Great Jaff.

Fresh perspective
I love stories that deviate far from the original. Why would I want to read the same story over and over again? The more far out the better. I think Jane A. would love it. I like when characters are redeemed to a point. So much more fun. On a journey to Gretna Green Lydia has to make a choice and she’s the ticket to save the family. Darcy is wonderful and solid. Elizabeth is not obnoxious as so many authors make her in the “vagaries”. Worth a credit. I admit I search for Harry Frost narratives and was delighted to see him paired with a favorite author, immediate buy.
