About this listen
The plan is simple. George and Ben have three weeks to cycle 1,000 miles from the bottom of England to the top of Scotland. There's just one small problem - they have no bikes, no clothes, no food, and no money. Setting off in just a pair of Union Jack boxer shorts, they attempt to rely on the generosity of the British public for everything from food to accommodation, clothes to shoes, and bikes to beer.
During the most extraordinary of challenges, George and Ben scavenge through rubbish bins, search for the Loch Ness monster, wash dishes, clean hotels, sing Christmas carols for food, swim in lakes, descend Cornish hills on children's bikes, and cook a barbecue for 30 old people in a field. They spend the night in a greenhouse, a canal boat, a posh hotel, an empty house, a pub, a tent in a car park, and a barn with a bull.
Through the course of their hysterical journey, they are clothed, fed, and sheltered by the generous people of Britain.

After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Story
Bill Bryson is an unabashed Anglophile who, through a mistake of history, happened to be born and bred in Iowa. Righting that error, he spent 20 years in England before deciding to repatriate. This was partly to let his wife and children experience life in Bryson's homeland - and partly because he had read that 3.7 million Americans believed that they had been abducted by aliens at one time or another. It was thus clear to him that his people needed him. But before leaving his much-loved home in North Yorkshire, Bryson insisted on taking one last trip around Britain.

Anna was never anything like those "real" runners on telly, but when she read about New Zealand’s 3,000-kilometer-long Te Araroa Trail, she began to wonder...perhaps being a "real" runner was overrated. Maybe she could just run it anyway? The Pants of Perspective is a witty, colorful, and at times painfully raw account of a journey to the edge of what a woman believes herself to be capable of. It is a coming-of-age story that will lead you on a roller-coaster ride through fear, vulnerability, courage, and failure.

Thirty years later as a successful businesswoman, she did it, buying a 15-acre farm deep in the Pinelands of South Jersey. She was planning to relocate Annie and her caravan of ragtag rescues - horses and goats, dogs and cats, chickens and pigs - when Annie died, just two weeks before moving day. Hi! I’m Seth! I was asked to describe my audiobook, Yearbook for websites and shit like that, so...here it goes!!! Yearbook is a collection of true stories that I desperately hope are just funny at worst, and life-changingly amazing at best. (I understand that it’s likely the former, which is a fancy “book” way of saying “the first one.”) I talk about my grandparents, doing stand-up comedy as a teenager, bar mitzvahs, and Jewish summer camp, and tell way more stories about doing drugs than my mother would like.

Just the concept of a long distance bike trip in which you start out in only boxer shorts (no other clothes, money or even bikes) grabbed my attention. Then the book just sucked me in and I had a hard time putting it down. Thank you George for your story - I LOVED IT!

Travel and humor
The author and his best friend decide to bike from one tip of England to the other. They only have a few obstacles in the way: they don't have bikes..Or money. Or clothes.
Yes, they start their journey in their underpants, and travel along to see if they can depend on the kindness of strangers. I've listened to this multiple times and enjoy it every time.

Hilarious adventure!
Just listened and followed the route in Google Maps. Even marked some places to visit. So much laugh and so many unbelievable meetings, pure kindness. And of course the main thing - I wondered so many times when they end up continuing solo but they never did, stayed together until the end in John o' Groats. Great fellows and great adventure!

Hilarious tale
I loved this book, the story and narration both. There is no way I’d have the guts to travel like Ben and Gorge, but I laughed out loud hearing George recount their story and the shenanigans they get into on the journey from Lands End to John O Groats. A must read for any travelers planning an upcoming adventure!
