About this listen

Abandoned as a child at the front gate of The Ranch, a school for troubled boys in the Texas Panhandle, Rand Holub was an outsider among outsiders. Back then they didn’t call it autism, they just said he was slow. But he was a mechanical genius.

From a roughneck in the oil fields of Texas and Oklahoma, 30 years later, Rand has climbed to the top of the heap by building his own energy company. But when a decades-old murderous secret bubbles to the surface and forces him and his wife to reconcile with the shadows of their past, they know it might well be their demise.

Fracked is a story of love and loss, trust and loyalty, lies and betrayal, and the hard truths of life. It is the story of an abandoned and disregarded boy who fought his way to manhood and must come to terms with the purpose and impact of his life—was it spent in the service of, or at the expense of, humankind.

I loved this from start to finish. Then again it’s hard not to pull for an underdog roughneck who fought for everything his whole life. A real good to great story filled with plot twists that will leave you wanting more. Rand’s loyalty and honesty is both his strength and weakness.

Had me listening morning & night.

This was an eloquently told story that guides you through a rainbow of emotions.
Whether the author is walking you down an old dirt road or fueling a fire of deceit, you feel it, I got lost in the story and didn't want it to end.

Wish this was a show!!

What a great book! It has everything! It’s a page turning thriller; it’s a love story; And it’s technologically educational. Through the life of an underprivileged abandoned child in the Texas panhandle, FRACKED chronicles how the strong core values of hard work, gratitude and love can overcome the "wiley" ways of big corporate boards and so many other of life’s obstacles including the roller coaster of building, from nothing, a strong and successful family business. But that’s just the surface. Deeper down it tugs at your heart strings and makes you just feel good. On top of that the author, Morris Denton delivered a first class narration of his own book in the style of the acclaimed Ray Porter. DO NOT MISS THIS BOOK.

Read this book, you will thank me

I was immediately hooked by the narration of this book by author Morris Denton. I loved getting to know Rand and his family and all the other characters as the story unfolded, as Rand worked his way from the bottom to the top of the West Texas/Oklahoma oil patch. I also loved how Morris wove it all together to end up back where it all started for Rand. This was a very enjoyable ebook to listen to except for the fact that I didn’t want it to end! I actually picked up a paper copy after finishing the ebook and could still hear Morris’ voice narrating the words in my head. Can’t wait for his next book!

Morris is a great story teller!
