About this listen
One of the first colonists to step foot on his new planets, he immediately begins establishing his farmstead with his girlfriend Edin. Using technology he has developed Ricky is able to communicate directly with his Grammy back on Earth. He is concerned the ansible network may be compromised.
Even while Ricky is building his farmstead, he helps the rest of his family build theirs, while at the same time piloting several shuttle runs to and from their colony ship to get the rest of the colony’s cargo and baggage to the surface in what will be their capital city.
Early in the unloading process, Ricky finds out his efforts have been rewarded with the complete ownership of one of Murna’s moons, along with a significant percentage of Murna’s three asteroid belts. He immediately starts forming plans in her mind how to utilize his new gains. At the same time, Ricky continues to buy large tracts of what should become some of the most valuable land on their new colony.
One piece of information Grammy imparted to him, is their first follow on colony transport with over sixty thousand new colonists launched far ahead of schedule and their complement isn’t at all what was originally intended.
