About this listen
The complete sequel series to Flashback.
Naaygi found them waiting for her - as she somehow knew they would be - as the cage doors opened, their forward-facing eyes glinting the same hue as the lights in the sky and their dark, storm-colored bodies held absolutely still (even as another animal joined them and brought their number to four). She even knew somehow what they were, that they were a breed of carnosaur the "evolved" humans had called nanotyrannosaurs, the "Pygmy Tyrants", and that one of them, the one with the brand upon its tail, the leader, even had a name - Napoleon, for he had been bounced forward and back in time via another alien species well before the Flashback and still bore the scars of his sojourn among the humans. She didn’t know how she knew these things, no more than she knew just where, within herself, Naaygi ended - and they, the lights in the sky, began. She just did, just as she knew that the Nano-Ts represented a queer offshoot of the dinosaur population that was altogether fleeter and deadlier and cannier than anything that had come before it.
And thus she bowed to them, her avengers, her killers - their killers, the lights in the sky - the rain running in rivulets down her body as she dropped to her knees and touched her forehead to the pavement, a pavement which ran red with blood and was strewn with the dismembered, disemboweled corpses of at least 50 men and women.
And then she whispered to them in a language older than words, Follow me.

Dinosaurs and Nazis
This came across as a science fiction short you would find in old magazines. It is enjoyable and felt like it was old school. The story is full of different things, dinosaurs, primitive girls, pygmy tyrants, and Nazis. With everything going on in this story in the end I wasn’t wowed by anything. There was a lot going on and it didn’t always seem like it should have all been there. That is actually what I liked about it though, like one of those low budget movies that you like for no good reason. I’m glad that this was the complete series. This story wouldn’t have been as good broken up into smaller pieces. There are other parts to this story and I would definitely recommend the beginning story titled “Flashback”, I found that one a lot more fun and delivered completely different.
Brian Clarke did a good job narrating. One of his character voices, the Dr., sounded like everyone’s attempt at Sean Connery, very enjoyable. I loved the singing he did from the radio in between conversation, brief but gave me a smile.

OK
There is nothing wrong with this audiobook, the narration and audio quality is fine. The book itself the concept is good and has lots of potential - but the title and the blurb say the complete series. It seems to start in the middle with no explanation and finishes before the end - like there was another series before and this series has more to come.
I found it confusing, Maybe I missed something.

Wonderful Serialized Novel
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this unbiased, voluntary review.
This was interesting to say the least. The writing is well done and full of cool action. The suspense is amazing and makes you just want to keep listening. But, I didn’t have a real connection to any of the characters and I felt that they were not properly explored.
My real fault with this book has to be the narrator. Brian Clarke makes all the action sound boring. Sometimes, I would find myself distracted while listening, even during the action! The narrator alone made this audiobook difficult to get through.
All in all, I would strongly recommend to anyone that enjoys sci-fi action.

Meh. Got most of the way through and gave up.
I really hate giving negative reviews, but occasionally one is justified -- as in this case.
The good: The basics of a good story are there. Dinosaurs are back, along with some of the large prehistoric cats, and it's survive-or-die time for the humans. I love a good pulp science fiction tale. That's the ONLY reason I gave this three stars instead of two.
The bad: (1) Despite doing a decent Sean Connery impersonation, the narrator never really did anything for me. Everything other than the character voices was kind of flat and leaden to my ear. (2) Nazis. More specifically, Nazis and their Nazi scientists' experiments. (3) I'm sorry, but if you're (SPOILER ALERT) being eaten alive by a large predator, consciously taking note of what is happening to you isn't going to be your primary concern. Screaming in agony yes; seeing a body part in the gullet of said predator and thinking "oh, that's where X went" isn't. And wouldn't it be too dark in there to see anything even if you weren't going feet first? [Which is where I said, "Nope, I'm done." Not because of the gore, but because of the sheer stupidity of it all.]

hodgepodge of genres. apocalypse, dinosaur &Nazis
finished it. world where great transition came along and majority of earth population disappeared. remainder undercarriage by predators from every time period highlighted by dinosaurs and even sabre tooth tiger felt like zombie tale where seemingly yet another sanctuary falls this time to dinosaurs and Nazis. suitably bad villains. mixed bag of humans. uneven flow of story.

Lots of action, not so great a story
I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.
While I really enjoyed Flashback, this story left me wanting. I don't know if it was the writing or if I missed things but sometimes it was hard to follow along with what was happening. It almost felt like this was the middle chapters of a book, or the second in a trilogy, but I just couldn't get behind any of the characters or anything.
The action starts right away, which is nice, but we're not really introduced to any of the characters we meet. We're not given much of a backstory or any way to connect with them, so it was hard to care what happens to them. You do get to know a few characters as the story goes along but by that point, it's almost too late. I did like the mystery behind Naaygi but you don't stay with her long enough to get to see her side of things. If we'd gotten that more, I might've liked the story better.
The inclusion of aliens was both unexpected and cliche' at the same time. I liked the idea that they were the reason for the flashback but their reasoning behind the whole thing seemed weak. It was the Nazi's that just made me throw my hands up in the air, especially the leader and the things he did. Was that really necessary? I would've liked to have seen more of Naaygi figuring out who she was and why she was there and of course, all the dinosaurs, but the story took such a left turn and went off the rails that I had a hard time finishing it.
Mr. Clarke did a good job narrating and is the main reason this is getting 3 stars instead of 2. I did like his voices for each character and he did a pretty good job with the action, keeping the gore from being overwhelming while letting you experience the poor people being torn apart by the creatures.
I'm still trying to figure out why the author had to include the smilodon in the story. If the aliens wanted to bring back the dinosaurs, why bring back a creature that didn't exist at the same time as the rest of the dinosaurs? It was like he wanted to include one and didn't care if it didn't seem to match the rest of the plot. Also, the people hiding in the mountain acted kind of stupid. Arguing over things that didn't seem to matter and not working together.
Overall, I was disappointed in this book. The first one had been a lot of fun and I was hoping this one would be too but it wasn't. I'd recommend reading/listening to that one and not bothering with this one.

the past comes to life
I recieved this book free of charge for an honest review. time is messed up by aliens or something( I didn't quite decide what they really were) this could have been a cool little miniseries on scifi though the books was quite short. dinosaurs are in the present and a band of humans fight for their survival. it's kinda like the walking dead with dinos instead of zombies. it's a fun listen but honestly it's to short for much to happen kind of a single day journal entry, give it shot if you want to kill a couple hours
