About this listen
What if achieving your dream means destroying your family, and obtaining your desire means losing who you love? In 1st century Galilee, two Jewish brothers, Judah and Seth, face this dilemma. They run from their father, but in opposite directions, leaving heartache in their wake. Judah's actions are inconceivable; Seth's behavior is rigidly outrageous; but their Abba's? His love and forgiveness makes no sense to anyone!
Experience this captivating journey through the Prodigal Son parable praised by readers as "a spiritual experience embedded in pure drama." If you loved "The Chosen", you won't want to miss this tale that will mesmerize your mind and just might heal your heart.

truth woven beautifully into story
Finding Home by Susan Macias. I love how this author created a cast of deeply human characters in this truly beautiful story! I try to read only what I can learn and grow from and this was exactly what my soul needed! If you are ready to experience faith on a new level, mercy, love and truth that will encourage, strengthen and even step on a few toes, this is the book for you!! (there are lessons here for the prodigal and those rebellious of heart in so many other ways.)
I received this audiobook for free and though I normally love to read was excited to listen thinking I could enjoy a book while still doing other things and not stay up until 2:00 am reading! I did enjoy listening while I worked (the reader was very engaging!!) however, I still ended up listening late into the night because I just couldn't stop!! 5 STARS FROM ME!!

The depth that the story gave insight to the oldest son in the story of the prodigal son.
This is a wonderful retelling of the prodigal son. I enjoyed the richness of each character in the book. The depth and insight that the story gave to the oldest son in the storyline. The story provides the reader with a indepth look at the self righteousness of others and the unfailingly love of a father. The story definitely filled with characteristics of our heavenly father and his love for us.

Beautifully written, i didn’t want to stop listening!
This is a beautifully written book. I found myself wondering what the characters were up to when I wasn’t listening! Even though it’s a story we all know, Susan Macias fleshed it out in a way that made me eagerly anticipate how it would end! Now I’m hoping there will be a sequel!

Deeply Resonates
Two brothers, driven by opposing dreams and beliefs, set out on their own paths, unaware of the destruction they leave in their wake. In their relentless pursuit of ambition, they abandon the very values that once defined them, blind to the cost of their choices. Their journey is fraught with sacrifice, but it is failure—not success—that becomes their greatest teacher. Yet, the question remains: will they recognize their downfall as a lesson, or will they let it consume them, leaving nothing but regret?
The author, Susan Macias, builds upon the parable of The Prodigal Son, crafting a richly immersive and compelling narrative. With meticulous attention to detail, she carefully lays the foundation for both the story and its characters, ensuring depth and authenticity. While the core themes echo the familiar tale, she skillfully expands upon them, offering a fresh and engaging perspective by vividly portraying the characters' struggles and failures. The dialogue further enhances the narrative, adding authenticity and emotional depth, making each character feel fully realized and compelling.
The narrator, Brady Smith, delivered a rich and strong performance, effortlessly embodying each character with clarity, energy, and passion. His rich, versatile voice brings the story to life, immersing the listener in every moment.
This audiobook lingers in one’s mind long after the final word, a testament to both the narration and the compelling story.

Gives me Hope for Biblical Fiction
I love the idea of Biblical fiction. Sadly, the overwhelming majority of what I read in the genre is either poorly researched or poorly written or, often, both. But I keep searching, trusting that somewhere out there an author is willing to put in the work to reflect the excellence of Jesus Christ.
I've found one!
I haven't spent a lot of time studying Roman culture, so cannot speak to those parts, but it does resonate as accurate. The Jewish sections reflect life as my Studies have shown it to be.
The characters are well developed though at times I had trouble keeping track of everyone. The crazy, messy lives of "real" people are on display for us to love, hate, grieve, and struggle with.
The writing is excellent, even the dialogue though at times, the slaves' vocabulary seemed beyond their education.
it didn't end like I wanted it too, but it ended the way it needed to.
The narrator is excellent, clear diction, easy to listen to, and great at distinguishing characters' voices.
This book is worth your time.
While I received a free review copy of the audiobook, the above opinions are my own, honest thoughts.
